Synopsis

This is the story of three characters (brothers Tomek and Jacek and their neighbor Magda), each of them is in their own way lonely and alienated. The title character makes herself secluded. Tomek's alienation results from his neurological disease, and Jacek contacts the world mainly via the Internet. This is also a film about love. Love of one brother to the other and of one alienated human being to the other. All together it creates a very universal picture with a Polish entourage.

peter-denny I recently had the pleasure to watch this movie at the Polish Film Festival here in Seattle. I think a lot was lost in the translation as I don't speak Polish but even that was not really a detriment. I can say that this movie was really original in topic and that I was thrown for a loop when I finally put it together. Its happy, sad, ironic and disjointed and really revolves around Jacek's care of his brother Tomek whose bizarre behavior has you wondering why anyone would. Its a touching movie, which even now I admit I didn't totally get because I think each viewing will open something new that I missed before. Highly recommended and the soundtrack is crazy good from what I heard. If it makes it to Itunes, I am all over it. Good job. I didn't see it coming.
