A claustrophobic, old-school thriller, making very good use of a (mostly) single location. Great ensemble acting and a nice twist ending which rewards viewing all the way through. As someone who has only visited Martha's Vineyard in the summer and heard tales of the "off-season population", I was very curious to watch this film. It captured the atmosphere and sense of place very well and made me want to go back again, despite making me way more wary of those "off-seasoners"! Recommended.

This movie is worth watching because the script keeps you engaged and the acting is very strong. The music and the setting make it spooky and suspenseful without being overly dramatic like many poorly made horror/thriller films.I've been to Martha's Vineyard and they really captured the island's sinister sense of loneliness. Throw in a killer with no where to run and you get a very exciting thriller. You really get the sense that you are on the eve of something bad. The director does a great job of building the suspense without making it feel corny or fake. A lot of thought went into each shot. The music enhances the watching experience.Well done!

I was always going to watch this movie because I spent a hell of a lot of time on Martha's Vineyard, the main location, and if you're not hobnobbing with the Edgartown Yacht club Set or hanging out with the POTUS at this private estate south of the airport, then lets face it, its a pretty damn creepy place and in real life I've experienced a lot of creepiness up there. We used to have a house next to a 200 year old cemetery and the housekeeper next door could be seen wandering the graves at night talking to people...especially around the graves of little kids...so was glad to see The Eve deliver not just a blood fest but a creepy and crafted thriller with a lot of suspense that is adult and NOT just teens so it tackles some real emotion and works its way into your head and delivers! Bravo!

This movie is popcorn flick gold. Curl up on the couch, at night, lights off, and prepared to be scared. Have a flashlight on standby. The actor, Al Thompson, is epic. He's great to watch. The minute he's on screen, you're like bam... I didn't know I could watch more intensely. The Eve is set on Martha's Vineyard and the filmmakers use the space nicely. Really making the environment part of the movie. I don't want to ruin it, but it's definitely a scary movie. And the... well... no spoiler... it's creepy. Very creepy. Watch it. For the people who are knocking it. This isn't a hack and slash blood and torture movie. If you're into that. You won't find it here. You want some screams and frights. Watch The Eve.
