masonfisk It's hard not to glean the critique of a film when the title is so self explanatory. Thus is The Disappointments Room, a film which played for a week at my local theater & quickly disappeared. The usually reliable of late DJ Caruso manned this tired tale of gentrified investment in the country only for the otherworldly to have a say about it. These types of films are so hard to do, it amazes me how many are attempted. Kate Beckinsale & her husband (who looks like a cross between Robert Carradine & Andrew Garfield) w/cute moppet in tow engage in the usual 'get out!' shenanigans until the eye rolling conclusion wherein the real horror is the theft of time this scareless flick has perpetuated on me.

michaelglencer it was unpredictable, and although the plot wasn't the most original, it was enjoyable. i think the reason many people are disappointed with it is because they had high expectations for it. if you plan on watching this movie - just watch it, don't think about it too much.oh, and for all the people saying that this is the worst horror movie ever made - you obviously haven't seen too many horror movies. in this genre, it's either utter s***, or the occasional gems like this one.

chroberts-1 I had high hopes for the first half of this movie, but it just falls into a jumble in the last half. So many unanswered questions; a random kite, a random carpenter,etc.. If you want to see a classic with a similar story line, but done much, much better, check out The Changeling, bone chilling Canadian movie from 1980 with George C Scott. Don't be fooled by it's age, it's scary.
