When the world's media descend on the remote Scottish island where a Hollywood actress is attempting to get married, a local girl is hired as a decoy bride to put the paparazzi off the scent. Despite the good cast 'The Decoy Bride' was unfortunately pretty cheesy and dumb to say the least and your typical bad english comedy that never strikes a fair punch of laughs or entertainment. David Tennant and Alice Eve are very good actors and they have proved it in various projects but this poorly written comedy does not offer them anything to do. (F)

A-lister Lara Tyler (Alice Eve) refuses to marry author James Arber (David Tennant) while the paparazzi continue to hound them. Lara's people decide the castle on Hegg Island in Scotland, the subject of James' book, would be the perfect isolated location for the wedding. Unfortunately, James is a fake, and his book has a little accuracy problem. Katie (Kelly Macdonald) is an island native spinster. She is reluctantly hired as a decoy bride to distract the paparazzi.Alice Eve is over the top frantic. Kelly Macdonald is lovely. And this is without a doubt a silly rom-com. The major problem is that there is so many fake premises. Luckily I like the actors. They're not horrible characters. It's certainly fine to like the characters as they bumble their way thru this movie.

A writer (David Tennant) is set to marry a renowned actress (Alice Eve), but the press crash the wedding. You then follow the couple on the adventure to try to marry, going through many problems. This film, I felt was a brilliant feel good film that kept you interested and was incredibly well cast. David Tennant played his part fantastically, although so did everyone else. All the characters are needed to complete this film, they put a very funny edge to it and keep you laughing and keeps you on the sofa to continue watching. The story line was obvious, but was pulled of well and if the ending ended differently you would have been left annoyed and disliking the film. You do feel it goes all a bit too quick, and things are sudden and left out but it's obvious what was intended and how is easy to understand aside all of that. I would recommend it for teenage sleepovers, but also for anyone who wants something funny with romance in. If you love Notting Hill, you will also love this.

I've got to admit, I first of all watched the film just because of David Tennant, because I adore him. He's a brilliant actor. But I thought the plot of the film sounded like a really ordinary romantic comedy, but I was proved wrong. It's a very humorous story and David's performance is great as ever. But also the other actors do a great job.I love the setting on this little island, as a backward region, which tries to take every advantage of the people coming there. It's definitely worthwhile watching the movie if you're searching for a bit of entertainment and like British settings and to be honest the accent's pretty cool, too.
