salmanalfarisi-81574 Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the best trilogies I've ever seen. Comparing it to The Godfather or Lord Of The Rings is really a foolish idea because the two trilogies are differently. The Dark Knight Rises is one of the final series in The Dark Knight trilogy which has conclusions that combine the two previous series. It's not that great by the way but there are some magic feelings that Nolan created in the three series of The Dark Knight. The story is one of the iconic, the script and the performance is way beyond too far. Heath Ledger is indeed one of the best actors who managed to portray one of the iconic Joker characters but Tom Hardy comes with a variety of uniqueness, as well as Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.Although there are some people who still got stuck because of The Dark Knight, this time to move on from there. I know there are many memorable scenes in any aspect and I admit The Dark Knight is one of the greatest superhero movies I've ever seen. Some people also say that The Dark Knight Rises is just one overhyped movie just because of the great success of The Dark Knight. But, I think at least not like that. Christopher Nolan makes this trilogy as realistic as possible, from taking the background, sympathy between characters, and scenarios. As I watch one of Marvel's movies, I think almost everything has the same story from the beginning to the end. In addition, I also realize that the story always has a pattern ranging from Iron Man to Avengers: Infinity War. I mean, I also sometimes like Marvel because it serves some good humor and action. However, there is a big difference when distinguishing it from this trilogy. Christopher Nolan always presents something that flickers so I just think twice about whether this is a superhero movie or not. As we know, these three trilogies are like The Godfather trilogy: there is an introduction, rises, and fall. In The Dark Knight trilogy, Nolan turned it a little bit into introductions, fall, and rises. This storytelling style also better describes a more vivid character that sometimes has a sympathetic element for viewers. If in The Dark Knight about Batman psychology of how he controls his morale and emotions, The Dark Knight Rises is more into physical testing against Bane. The Gotham city background is also more evident and different from the previous series. We are like losing something in the city and we need that. The chaotic theme which it created by Bane is also more clear, in contrast to the Joker who controls Gotham city in a way that Bane has his way. The Dark Knight Rises shows a tragedy of how a city is in terror for days. However, my minor problem in here is the city that feels like nothing happened so it's like going through normal days.Bane is one of the characters that are not too comical and more realistically for a villain character. Bane is more of a terrorist character who performs his action using physical as well as intimidating his opponent. My funny part about him is that he also has a satirical nature where I often see him intimidating someone even Batman though. In addition, Bane is also a character that has the background and unlike Joker that has a mysterious nature. I think Bane is also one of the villain characters who have emotions like Bruce Wayne's past behind the mask. Behind all that, Bane wouldn't have felt more alive if not Tom Hardy. I often see some of his actings just by his eyes, he can create a gimmick and gesture intense to look at. In Dunkirk and Mad Max: Fury Road, Tom Hardy seems to be able to show his emotions just from his gaze as there is no fear at all.Christian Bale reduced his tone a little bit more, though he also great. His character remains like The Dark Knight and he is also just as great as Tom Hardy whose competed acting. Michael Caine as always great in The Dark Knight trilogy, Anne Hathaway with a sexy character but her character doesn't have a background, Gary Oldman is also like that although almost all his scenario is covered, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the best sidekick for Batman. As usual, also, Christopher Nolan brought Hans Zimmer who became a compliment in presenting scene after scene became tense and goosebumps. Christopher Nolan is also good at presenting a story from someone who succeeded to control the city until the rises of Batman for not reputation but for himself and Gotham. Christopher Nolan knows how to make conclusions from the two previous series into a very epic trilogy I've ever seen. The Dark Knight Rises is one of the best movies in giving a conclusion in this trilogy. Christopher Nolan outlines all the stories with the various references that exist in both previous series. Not to mention, the actors and actresses who performed with great performances, especially Tom Hardy and Christian Bale. I more prefer Joseph Gordon-Levitt in this movie although he was also first introduced in this series. Some part, still vague. Hans Zimmer with his score always builds a tension between the scene and this is also the last movie by Christopher Nolan that I've watched. I hope, he is still making the film in the future after Dunkirk and always present a story with his truly brilliant mind.
logicproreviews Let's start with the positives. The cinematography is so glorious to look at and the Bat suit photographs so well here. Wally Pfister and IMAX cameras make a good marriage. The sheer scope in each frame is downright impressive and in some ways, this tops the Dark Knight in terms of scale and coverage. Bigger, grander, larger and louder.I can remember looking forward to this so much, back in the summer of 2011, we were treated to some leaked footage which showed Batman facing off against the masked antagonist Bane on the snowy streets of Gotham. I figured that Bane had invaded Gotham and that Batman had come out of hiding to face this new threat. The trailer arrived that Christmas, showing an out of breath Batman backing away from the hulking Bane. So, I had created my own mythology here. A nuts and bolts battle to the death which could have cost Batman his life. Instead, we barely got to see Batman - Bale only appears as Batman for a mere 30 minutes or so in a clunky 2h 44min film that overstays it's welcome. The first fight between Bane and Batman was hard to watch and I felt for poor Bruce Wayne getting his ass handed to him and literally broken. We needed more interactions with these two characters. Instead we got Wayne in the hole and Bane mumbling his way round Gotham.Hardy is a powerhouse but wtf was he saying? It was tedious after ten minutes. His speeches on the football field and outside the prison are ridiculous and nonsensical. How was his plan to release prisoners from jail to give Gotham citizens their city back ever going to work? I feel that this script was rushed, Nolan was clearly under pressure to deliver a sequel within a set window of time and the grandiose sequences were clearly put in to try and top the film that went before.6/10
douglasbrewer-74526 The Dark knight rises ends what can be considered one of the greatest trilogies in all cinema. On its own this is a great, long film containing some amazing action set pieces- especially vehicles but the fact remains that there are many underlying themes about human nature and mortality at play here. Christian Bale dons the batsuit one last time for Nolan but it is Tom Hardy as Bane who steals the show with his raw energy. On its own this is a must watch but when seen as a piece of a trilogy this is not to be missed. (Concludes one of the greatest series in all of cinema)
Minahzur Rahman This movie was a very interesting one, but in so many different ways. This movie has so many question marks which needs to be addressed. Yes, The Dark Knight Rises was a good movie to watch especially when you first see it, but it's definitely not as good as Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. This movie seems to have too many plot holes which causes problems. Also, I don't like the eight year gap after The Dark Knight story because it's too long for my liking: three, four or five years would've made far more sense. Story was good, and it gets you very interested, but it could've been so much better. It does get you, the viewer, very engaged. Obviously, the best thing about this movie was Bane - the villain was very fearsome. Bane was terrific. The only downside to Bane was the outfit. Bane could've or should've looked far more menacing than it already was. He definitely should've been a lot bigger especially in height. After all, Bane was the only villain that was known to have "broken the bat". I don't think this movie did quite a good job of it. Some of his quotes were very memorable such as "Why are you here?", "Do you feel in charge" and "I was asking you". I like Bane, but I don't think he was the right choice to play the villain in this final movie. Someone such as the Riddler or the Penguin would've been far better, but that's just my personal opinion. But I can see why Bane was chosen, but the movie could've been far better than it already was had more care was given to it. I have a feeling after what happened to Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight Rises already lost a lot of its light before it was made, so that's why the movie wasn't as great. I don't know about you, but The Dark Knight Rises looked pretty dull to me right from the very beginning, and that's something I just didn't like about this movie. The soundtracks or themes for this movie was brilliant, and that was one of the few best things about this movie. The first movie was "Batman Begins". The second movie was "The Dark Knight". The third movie should've been either "Batman Ends" or "The Dark Knight Ends" - this is what this movie does I'm afraid. Yes, "The Dark Knight Rises", but it rises far too late. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is something I could watch repeatedly, but not The Dark Knight Rises because The Dark Knight Ends.
