I'm sorry. Bobby DeNiro can do almost anything. I found out from watching this movie that he can't do comedy. Some of the lines were pretty funny, but his delivery and timing were so off I didn't laugh. If Rodney or someone who lived in the blue comedy universe delivered the lines, well it might have had me laughing.I was only groaning. In one club scene, an on-stage comic is extolling the virtues of New York to a newcomer. "What's that smell?" she says. "That's the greatest city in the world."Well, to me, it's the movie.

If I took the 5 funniest scenes and 10 funniest jokes and combined it with a half dozen very good performances I'd have to give this movie 8 out of 10.But... when I add in the other 90% (1 Star), I end up with 2 (bad).

Maybe some high school kids will get a kick out of the "poopie" and pussy jokes and enjoy an 8 year old say the f word. This is comedy?..? The acting is good, enjoyed the cameos, but felt I overpaid while I saw it free. A character study of an unsympathetic character I cared nothing about.

It makes me very sad that the mean spirited, vulgar, bathroom humour depicted in this movie could ever be considered the work of a professional comedian. Unfortunately, for all of us, it probably is. This is the lowest common denominator of humour. Makes me both sad and angry. The cast is fine; everyone does an adequate job, and there are a lot of cameos to keep it interesting - I loved Cloris Leachman and Leslie Mann does the quirky-charming thing very well.. DeNiro excels in the role of a low-brow, washed-up comedian - he is a professional actor after all - but I have no respect for him, and I think he has a lot of nerve criticizing Trump for being crass.
