Michael Ledo This is a film which centres on the lives of a family of Hillbilly cannibals from northern New Jersey. They broke their creed "strangers are tops, but neighbours bring cops" early in the film with the tug-o-war killing of Andy Shiffner (Sasha Friedenberg). The main character (DVD cover girl) is Beefteena Bullion played by Alan Rowe Kelly and my bad for thinking she was a he and played by someone emulating "Divine." She also wrote and directed this feature and is the face or tomorrow. Her brothers are Hubcap (Mike Lane doomed zombie in "Zombies Anonymous" ) and Butternut (Joshua Nelson Josh in "Zombies Anonymous" ). Susan Adriensen (mutant secretary in "Experiment #7) is Sno Cakes, the sister. The patriarch of this family is Papa Elvis Bullion played by Terry West an extra in Misty Mundae films. The film is overtly campy by design. This is perhaps for those who would have loved "House of a 1,000 Corpses" if the dialogue wasn't so far above their head.10 on the camp scale. 1 for serious viewers.Parental Guide: F-bombs. no sex or nudity. clothed genital mutilation.
arfdawg-1 A sweet little tale about your average inbred, hillbilly, cannibal family residing in the northern part of New Jersey. And how they deal with the day-to-day annoyances of encroaching suburbia.A wee bit like early john Waters films. But not entirely. It doesn't have the bent sense of humor that Waters has. So it comes across as a pale duplicate.Too bad. I saw some promise in this film, but alas. In the end, it comes up short.
andyrose_tx The Bullions are a backwoods, inbred family of cannibalistic killers. Don't stop reading now and tell yourself that you know this story, it's been done before in many films such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Motel Hell, and even the House of 1000 Corpses, as this film delivers a new story in this well-done sub-genre.Alan Rowe Kelly wrote and directed "The Blood Shed." Yes, many of the familiar elements of the sub-genre are found here. Grandma's wheelchair bound, says very little, and is reminiscent of the Grandpa played by Ken Everett (RIP) in TCM2. The inbreeding is evident in the children. Alan Rowe Kelly plays the daughter, Beeftina, and pulls this role off to the "T". And yes, there's a dinner scene or two that will surely make the weak stomached viewer wretch in disgust as the Bullion family eats some of the most disgusting food I've ever seen. So, what makes this film different? It's a well written and directed independent film with actors that deliver a product well worth watching. It's a bit of a parody with homages paid to its predecessors. These inbred cannibals live in New Jersey. It seems almost like something you'd get if you crossed "Hairspray" with "TCM" and as bad as that may seem, it really worked quite well. The cinematography, kills and gore f/x, costumes, and score all play into making this a great film.Plus, Alan Rowe Kelly, has chosen B-Side to distribute this work. You can download it for $2.99 or $7.99 (portable download or DVD download) or buy the DVD for $12.99. If you buy the download and then decide you'd like the DVD B-Side will only charge you the difference between the two.Buy this film. I'm quite sure you'll enjoy it.
BillysGirl0612 I absolutely LOVED this movie. I've watched it about 3x so far and I'm not done yet.The acting was great. Campy, but not fake or over the top. You could tell everyone must've had a blast making this film.I am a big fan of Alan Rowe Kelly, and I knew I would not be disappointed in this movie.Susan Adriensen as SnoCakes had great chemistry with ARK's Beefteena. I laughed so hard whenever they were on screen together.Joshua Nelson, Mike Lane and Terry M. West filled out the rest of the cast and played their characters superbly. You found yourself actually rooting and cheering on the Bullion clan.I cannot wait for more adventures of the Bullions!
