It's good to see Scorsese team up with his two favorite actors DiCaprio and DeNero for the first time. Yes, it's only a 15 min short movie but it's still entertaining
Thank you

To honor my favorite director on his 75th birthday, I decided to go somewhere I've never been on this site before: Shorts. The plot of this is simple, yet very funny. Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro compete for a role in Scorsese's next movie. While the short might've been made to advertise a casino opening, the dialogue between the three guys is great. It's that good Scorsese dialogue and humor that just works. As they both passive aggressively try to convince Scorsese to cast them, he gets fed up and goes with Brad Pitt. With Brad Pitt butchering the script-reading, Leo and De Niro walk off to a spa. It's short, and simple, but it's executed really well. It's got references to Scorsese's other works, but it never feels like he's congratulating himself. It's used more for humor than ego. Short and sweet, just like Mr. Scorsese himself.

Do you want Scorsese, De Niro, Di Caprio (and Brad Pitt, but who cares) in a Meta comedy short? Yes please, answers the nation.Unfortunately this 15 minute short film, promoting the opening of Melco- Crown's Macau casino resort, looks like it was just a quick cash grab for all those involved. So much for the epic De Niro-Di Caprio-Scorsese team up that everyone has been waiting for. Apparently, the stars were paid a whopping $30million each. The story follows Bobby and Leo both arriving separately to the resort, as they have both been invited to audition for a role in Marty's new film. Little do they know they are both completing for the same part. It's a very cool premise that sounds much better than it actually plays out in the film. Sure, there are one or two amusing lines, but the banter between the two mega stars could have been much better. The short got dull only a couple of minutes in, and I found myself constantly looking at my watch despite the film only being 16 minutes long. Oh well.

"The Audition" is a 15-minute short film promoting the opening of Melco-Crown's movie-themed resort and casino in Macau. I guess they really wanted to make it a special event if they offered enough money to get DiCaprio, Pitt and De Niro on board. Also this one is directed by Martin Scorsese and was written by Terence Winter. The two also made "The Wolf of Wall Street". And DiCaprio is in this one as well of course. This is the first time that Pitt and DiCaprio appear together in a movie and maybe the only time. Let's see what the future brings. Anyway, this is not too great of a movie. The actors and Scorsese all play themselves in slightly more over-the-top versions. The dialogs weren't really that great and basically it is just what you could expect: a promo ad for a new casino. Wish this had better dialogs and more interesting action, but it's not the case unfortunately and the actors also seem pretty hammy and over the top here. Not recommended.
