lordhouck I remember seeing a trailer for this movie back in '13, but forgot all about it. I do like this movie, apart from the very end. It is now 2018, and I find no hint of there being a sequel. If there was, rather think it would have come out long before now. It is unfortunate, as well as irritating.
hollygriwach Okay, this movie is far from award-worthy, but it is nowhere near as awful as people think it is. After discovering it online and reading several mixed reviews, I had to see for myself. Yes, the plot is thin and predictable, and the acting is one-dimensional. Some of the characters are actually quite laughable. But it's a fun, easy-to-watch movie that is excellent for kids since there is very little violence. It starts out really good, but it gets pretty silly as it goes along. It would have been a lot better if they hadn't tried to make it so challenging. If they had made it what it really was, a fun, lightweight kids' movie, it would have been a lot better. But some parts (avoiding spoilers here, but you'll see what I mean if you watch it) are absolutely ridiculous. Had they not included those absurd sub-plots, this would have been throughly watchable and more enjoyable. All in all, it's not the horrible disappointment that people are claiming it to be. But if you go in with high expectations, it will be. It's nothing more than a fun, simple adventure movie targeted at kids that i, as an adult, still found more than watchable.
Armand adventure in pure form with seductive clothes. treasure, run, the magic of war between good and evil, inspired music and acting. a film for entire family joy, not different by trend but far to be disappointing. the mixture- Victorian atmosphere, one of Ancient myths reference, a good acting and children is real seductive. and that could not represent a surprise. sure, it is just entertainment but that is its basic virtue. it is not original but the use of ordinary references does it interesting. a shining movie . that is all. fight scenes, secrets, courage and adorable characters. a clear purpose and a lot of events. so, see it !
Kathy Nolan This was a great movie for the whole family. A bit of a sleeper because it was better than expected. Shame it did not get the adds it should have so more people could have watched it and perhaps done better at the box office. I am surprised at the bad reviews on this web site and hope more people get a chance to see it. I am eager to see a sequel. The story line was good. The settings were full of interesting things to see. The cinematography was excellent. Actors did a great job of making their characters believable. This film took me on a journey, a true adventure and was not predictable. There was a mysterious air to this film. I could see some influence from Harry Potter and Indiana Jones and others but this film was better in keeping your attention without the use of sex, drugs, foul language, excessively violence or bloody scenes. Well done.
