I've been playing Tekken since I was very young, and it is by far my favourite fighting game. Before I get to the film, these were the things I loved in the game:1. Creative and interesting characters, all with amazingly different styles.2. A trance soundtrack that gave the game a really surreal feel to it.3. Most of all, the characters' backgrounds. So now, let's apply these points to the film:1. You do get to see your favourite characters, and that was the really strong point for me. When I saw Eddie in action, I got such a rush of HELL YEAH!! All their different styles are great, except for Martial Law and Yoshimitsu, which I found very basic. Also you don't get to see Heihachi in combat, which was really disappointing, and the fact he turns out to be a good guy? NO!! 2. There is dance music throughout the film, but it wasn't quite trance enough for me, and feel that they should have used more of the games' original scores. Also, the constant darkness and rain set in and post-apocalyptic city scape didn't allow for a proper Tekken feel.3. Now, the characters' backgrounds. No Martial Arts tournament movies really have room for depth, and let's face it, are very similar and you just wanna see people kick lumps out each other, but each character in the game has their own reason for being there, and I felt that, in the movie, they should have shown each character's background - just like they dick in Enter the Dragon. To sum up, if you are a MASSIVE Tekken fan, give it a watch, at least just to see your favourite characters in live action. Don't think is was awful, but could have been so much better too.

While there was reason to dislike the movie from both fan-based point- of-views (Lack of characters from a game that has quite a healthy roster, especially the absence of two main characters/transformations that could have been an obvious choice for the final bout) and movie critics point-of-view (scene inconsistencies, story), I can honestly say I enjoyed the movie. I didn't take any notice of the 'goofs' that were listed on this site while I was watching the film. Characters were imitated to a decent quality and the action was quite solid. But I feel what most critics are forgetting, is that yes a 'good movie' requires a good plot..or so that's what the critics seem to believe.. This is based off a FIGHTING game. A fighting game that also focuses more on fighting than story. So you shouldn't expect much more from a movie based on just that. To sum it up, I thoroughly enjoyed it but don't actually take my word for it.. In fact don't take any critic's word for it. I know from personal experience that only you will know whether you will enjoy a movie or not. People have different opinions and this is merely my opinion. I would be interested in an open-discussion about this movie anyways though :)POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT:I WANT A SEQUEL! I feel like there's a love triangle going on that needs to develop/conclude in the next movie. Also I want to see more fighters..especially devil, devil jin, ogre, jinpachi. And Heihachi Mishima is NOT dead ;)

This is one of the worst movie based on a video game. It's basically based on a fighting game so had very low expectations for it but didn't know it would be this terrible. All the characters have different characteristics from the game, like completely. The story is nowhere close to following the video game story line. It's like "Tekken: Blood Vengeance" came out to atone for this movie. Which isn't a good CGI animated movie but stuck close to the Tekken universe. This one just about has nothing to do with it. Except the tournament and the corporation. The fighting style of each character is also completely different from the video game franchise this is based off of. Steve Fox is the only likable character in this movie. This movie is about an hour and a half long but it was just so darn painful to sit through because of how boring and lame everything is. At least the "Mortal Kombat" movie got some effort thrown into it and at least tried to follow the storyline of the game, but not this one. It just amazes me how this movie cost $30,000,000 to make. I guess it's to get the license because everything from the dialogue to the acting to the props and special effects look so very cheap. Because of the budget I was at least expecting something, not much but something but left disappointed. This movie is a abomination to the video game franchise this is based off of. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa was pretty good as Shang Tsung in the "Mortal Kombat" movie. But his look and acting is just unintentionally funny to watch and so awful.1/10

by kloxalot "did not seem to be a video game movie...unlike " street fighter." they did a good job of making the fight scenes seem realistic. the story line wasn't to bad either. i thought this film was going to be a disappointment...i was wrong. i thought it was better than any of jaun claudes movies. the women in this movie are all hott. there was even a little bit of sex scenes that were kinda spicy. the characters all had there own unique style. the one thing i was disappointed about was that yoshimitsu made a quick appearance and did not get enough camera time. some quirks about the movie was there really no surprise ending. all around it was a pretty good action packed movie that was surprisingly good...worth the time to watch." i agree with moast of this.. really did a good job on it . my only issue was the lack of characters and the more known ones had small roles but maybe there could be a 2 coming ...each character was presented really well Looks and fighting styles .. storyline strayed a little but jump back on quick .. all and all really good game to movie transfer .. better than street fighter or mortal kombat . if your a tekken fan this is a must watch!!!
