Kirpianuscus A teenager horror. nice, unrealistic but seductive for the performance of Helen Mirren who transforms her character in the lead pillar for sustain the film. the young actors are not bad but the script does not give many chances to a coherent image of revengers. so, a sort of mix between teenager film, suspense and few drops of horror. the tension works and the memories of viewer about difficult teachers are real useful in this case.
Atomic_Peace This is one of those movies you hate to hate, and love to love. Teaching Mrs. Tingle was not the least bit original, but at the same time it was good.Mrs. Tingle is the teacher from hell, she hates her students and her students hate her. She is a nasty, nit-picky teacher who has been doing the same thing for 20 years, and that's destroying people's dreams! After catching Leigh Ann Watson"cheating" off her social studies final (when she was just returning it after a friend stole it) she gives her an atomic F. Leigh Ann and her friends Jo Lynn and Luke go to other house to try and figure things out, but while there all hell breaks loose and it ends up in a hostage situation.I am a huge Kevin Williamson fan, but this movie is just something I can't say that I hate, or like. I give it 6/10 because it's first movie for gods sake, have you seen Scorsse's student films!?
hbkr22 Before watching this I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Granted, it's not a work of art, but it's better than a lot of movies that are out there. The basic story revolves around Leigh Ann Watson getting caught by Mrs. Tingle with answers to an exam only less than a week away from graduation (and she has to get an A in Tingle's class to be valedictorian and get a scholarship). What Tingle doesn't realize is that her other student Luke was the one who made the copy of the answers and stuck it in there. So Leigh Ann, Luke, and Leigh Ann's best friend Jo Lynn go to Tingle's house to try to talk her into believing that it was not Leigh Ann that was cheating.Tingle thinks it will be "scandalous" and after a mishap involving an arrow almost killing Tingle, she is tied up and held hostage by the three teens for several days while they try to cover up their tracks and make sure that nobody finds out. Pretty much the next hour or so of the movie is in Tingle's house. She gets Jo Lynn and Leigh Ann to turn on each other by telling them fabricated stories from her past that revolve around both girls' attractions toward Luke. The ending was kind of corny, but most movie endings are anyway so I guess the writer(s) has my forgiveness for that. All in all, it was a pretty good watch. If you have a good hour and a half to kill, I would recommend this movie. It's not a bad movie, and even if you don't like the genre it does what a lot of movies can't do - entertain. It may not be the most believable movie ever, but overall I found it to be surprisingly good.
Dragoneyed363 I was expecting to be entertained with Teaching Mrs. Tingle from the beginning, regardless of all the negative reception it receives. I really don't see why everybody is being so unfair on this movie after watching it, either. It was just an enjoyable and fun little film that people are criticizing way too harshly, because it was not that terrible and all it was meant for is to be an entertaining popcorn flick, and in the end, that's what it is; pure entertainment. The movie starts off very good, such as, I was sucked in from the very beginning because I tend to enjoy a lot of teen movies, and this certainly falls under that category. The characters are all really very likable too in their own ways, and none of them were really badly done or uninteresting. I especially loved how Mrs. Tingle was such a prude and how no matter what was thrown at her she always managed to contain that rough persona, because she was excellently portrayed by Helen Mirren. The only thing that really bothered me was the ending, because it was very unprofessionally done and it was just totally sudden and abrupt like they ran out of time and or ideas and rushed the whole thing, but otherwise, Teaching Mrs. Tingle is nothing but fun from beginning to end with enjoyable performances, an interesting concept and good entertainment value. It is definitely not as bad as everyone lets it on to be, in my opinion.
