This is a 13-year-old Austrian movie which runs for only a bit longer than 80 minutes. The writer and director is Wolfgang Murnberger and he is mostly known for his crime movies with the very talented Josef Hader. These are also much better than his film here. "Taxi for a Corpse" basically describes the film very well. There is some drama and tragedy in here, but it's really all about the comedy. It's a pretty dark comedy from Austria as there are quite a few actually. However, I personally did not find it funny at all. Very rarely I had a smile on my lips while watching this and the scenes that involved sexuality were really strange and not too funny at all in my opinion. So my verdict is that if you want to get more into German or, even more specific, Austrian cinema, there are far better films to pick from. The actors, all of them pretty experienced, did a solid job with what they were given and yet none of them gave a particularly memorable performance I believe. However, the script just isn't creative and smart enough to let me recommend this film to others. Better stay away. Oh and final note: Even as a German (non-Austrian) native speaker, you may need subtitles maybe. The accents are pretty thick most of the time.
