GaneshKSalian Tashan directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya is a bad movie. The film may be very high on style but is equally low in substance.Performances of Akshay Kumar,Kareena Kapoor and Anil Kapoor make this a "watchable" film. But is this one would really want from a movie belonging to Yash Raj? Story: Jeetendra Kumar Makwana (Saif Ali Khan) is employed full-time at a Call Center and works part-time teaching English. He is recruited by an attractive young woman, Pooja (Kareena Kapoor), to teach her Hinglish-speaking boss, Bhaiyaji (Anil Kapoor),English. Jeetendra agrees to do so, falls in love with Pooja, and joins forces with her to steal a bag containing 25 Crore Rupees in cash.Bahiyaji settles for Bachchan Pande (Akshay Kumar) to carry out the job of tracing Pooja, once Jimmy surrenders himself to Bhaiyyaji. What happens next? The direction is bad.The music is equally bad.The cinematography is excellent.Performances: Performances are the only thing worth in this movie.Akshay Kumar steals the show with his superb performance.Kareena Kapoor looks gorgeous and is good too.Anil Kapoor after a hiatus seen donning a villainous role is mind-blowing.Saif Ali Khan is subtle.Yashpal Sharma is hardly there.Sanjay Mishra and Manoj Pahwa provide few laughs. All in all,Tashan is a very very bad movie.Do not watch even by mistake.I am giving it a two on ten.Major Disappointment!
t_1 I just saw Tashan. Why do you guys who says this movie is bad? This movie is cool. Some d**b f*** critics compared it with Ramgopal Varma Ki Aag.Either they have not seen Aag or Tashan.I saw both of them.Aag is the worst movie I have ever seen.It was a complete disaster in every department.Cult classic Sholay did not receive such a punishment. As in the case of Tashan, it is 1 billion times better than Aag.It is not for intellectuals or for people looking for a solid script. The truth is the script is as old as the hills. But the movie is not boring. Not even for a nano second. The credit goes to the four main actors(Akshay,Anil,Saif and Kareena delivered superb performances.),the dialogues, the songs(Tashan Mein and Dil Dance Maare rocks), the choreography, the sets, the background music the action scenes and the pace of the movie. The action scenes could have been better. Also the henchmen of Anil Kapoor were ridiculous. The movie would not have been half as entertaining without Akshay. You will love his character.A wannabe shooter with a heart of gold.He is the soul of the movie.A perfect weekend movie.Just sit back and enjoy.NB: Maybe I should also say that you have to be an Akshay Kumar fan in order to enjoy the movie.I am one.For the past 14 years
Manoj Ransing I just saw the movie in theater. The movie has very few good points to talk about. Kareena's beauty and a couple of songs may be. Thats it. The movie is a complete disappointment in all areas. Anyone associated with the movie will be disappointed, even Mumbai Indians too (just now Chennai has made it to semi-final). But the worst I feel about the movie is the action scenes. Now days Bollywood is trying to copy action scenes from Hollywood. But they forget that Hollywood directors takes a lot effect to make it look like real. But unfortunately Bollywood directors do not have that much of time. They spend their time on songs and publicity of the movie. Now such too stupid action scenes may work in South as the audience just pay to watch their favorite actor killing bunch of people. But in Bollywood this is certainly not going to work. All the action scenes I wish I could have forwarded. At the end even some Chinese people appear from nowhere to beat Akshay Kumar. This is height of stupidity. Audience is not paying to watch such stupidity. I think Bollywood now should forget about the action movies. They cant make it. The last good action I have seen was from "Ghatak" and "Khiladiyon ka Khialdi". The current scene in Bollywood is really sad for action movie fans like me. Does these people see their movie after completion? Can't they figure out that the slow motion action (which is done using ropes) is too unrealistic and childish? Better not to have action scenes if you cant handle it. I just want to go back to Amitabh's era where movie like Zanjeer and Deewar were having thrilling action scenes. The sound effect was not very effective in those days, but visually it is much better than current era scenes. This movie now should open the eyes of the Bollywood movie directors. Please don't make any more action movies, until you acquire the art of making it realistic.
springsunnywinter I had no idea what the film is about before I saw it because Tashan only had teaser trailers while it was being promoted. So I asked my friends if they knew anything about it and they said that "It is the directorial debut of Vijay Krishna Acharya who wrote the screenplays for Dhoom 1 & 2 and Saif Ali Khan's son Ibrahim makes his debut in the film by playing him as a child in his flashback".After watching it, I understood that why their wasn't a proper trailer because there wasn't anything in the film to show. The story was extremely dum and even a 10 year old child can come up with a better story-line. There was hardly any action and the camera shook at every possible angle there is and it's difficult to figure out that who is killing who. Also the action was daft & unrealistic e.g. 1 man with a handgun managed to kill about 100 men with machine guns. While I was watching Tashan it reminded me of 3 films:Sin City: During the opening credits.Koyla: Anil Kapoor's terrible English like Amrish Puri in Koyla.Jhoom Barabar Jhoom: The outrageously ridiculous jokes that are not even a jot funny.I also heard the budget is 40 crores which is the same amount as Dhoom 2 and I don't know where all the money went to. Anyway if you did not like Dhoom 2 then there is absolutely no chance that you will like Tashan. Race was hot on heels and that is a million times better. The only 2 good songs are Dil Haara & Challiya and both songs are shot in Greece at good locations but what is the use of it in a rubbish film? Even Anil Kapoor's terrible English couldn't save this discomfiture.
