Synopsis

1975: A 200-ton blue whale gets washed up on a local beach and the kids think it’s the biggest thing that’s ever happened in Australia. Behind closed doors, the Mums and Dads of a quiet suburban street are going to celebrate in their own special way, by joining the sexual revolution and throwing a wife-swapping key party. And like the rotting whale, it’s all about to go spectacularly wrong.

Reviews

OneEightNine Media Yup, I was wise enough not to watch more than 20 minutes of this before doing the math and checking IMDB.
LouieInLove I enjoyed it. This is a caricature look at the world before health & safety & PC fascism; where victims were just soft & folk simply had to get on with it. Yes, there were casualties, but these times were free of knowing mass uncensored judgement from a glance at a phone. This was a more innocent & less paranoid time - definitely a little more dangerous & fun.All the actors did a good job.
Dale Hansen I don't tend to write many movie reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for this movie to warn people of how terrible it is. So much great Australian talent is wasted on this film. There are no characters you can actually warm to. But if you're a fan of animal cruelty, bratty kids, irresponsible parents, underdeveloped characters, unfocused storylines and over-the-top stereotypes, this is the film for you. Otherwise, avoid. What a waste of precious grant money that could have gone to a better movie.
numbwitt Surreal and hyper realistic, fast paced, challenging, wonderfully entertaining with a big BIG heart, irreverent without being malicious. I've watched Swinging Safari 3 times already and can't get enough of it. Films like this keeps bringing back to the movies.
