So. They set up the characters really well. Super engaging scenes that makes you learn about all of them. They open a ton of threads about all them in subtle, natural ways, plus relationships between some of them...And then all ends in a few sequences in a non-climax. I honestly believe they thought they could film for more time in a two hour film, they were noticed that wasn't going to be the case, and rewrite the end so they could at least sell the movie.Having said that, the acting and script of the good part (2/3) of the movie is so good that I couldn't put this movie less than a six...

The movie and the plot was OK, however there was far too much music and sound effects and not enough light. Seems like so many movies now days are cutting down on the cost for lighting so everything is in the dark now.

Sweet Virginia is a good movie for people who like a bit of a film noir with a decent story. If you expecting fast-paced action scenes just skip this movie then because it all looks a bit slow. But that's how the story is. The soundtrack helps creating the thriller and suspense effect. The movie mainly centers around four characters played by Jon Bernthal, Imogen Poots, Rosemarie DeWitt and Christopher Abbott. They all did a good job playing their respective characters. Some reviewer mentioned this movie could become a cult movie, but that is too far fetched. It will never be a cult movie. It's just a enjoyable movie with a decent story to watch.

This was actually a pretty good movie, decent plot and well acted. The movie is essentially about a pathetic woman who instead of leaving her cheating husband decides to have him killed. With little knowledge of his business dealings she believes her husband to be more successful than he was, a miscalculation that left her unable to pay her psychotic hit-man. Rather than face up to her consequences she tells the hit-man about her friend who happens to have the money he needs. The hit-man develops a plan to go and rob her friend which is essentially where things go awry and also where the movie plot ties in. Without giving anything additional away, I will only say again this movie is worth the watch!
