Drama created out of nothing, worst movie ever written, stopped watching after 4th death, or was it 5th, who cares!

'Sunshine (2007)' is one of the strangest cases of a total tonal, genre-bending gear-switch I think I've ever seen committed to film, with the initially grandiose existentialism of the thoughtful and slow-paced science-fiction thriller exchanged wholeheartedly for a strangely silly and slightly schlocky 'slasher' flick finale frustratingly forced into the film in place of a more appropriate ending that cashes the cheque of its intriguing ideas and terrific themes in a more expected yet satisfying way. Though for the faults that this two-handed approach provides, I don't necessarily think that it can totally ruin what came before and, while it's certainly an odd choice that taints the sum of its parts, the overall effect of the picture isn't lost thanks to its uniquely interesting aesthetic, expert direction, engaging high-concept ideas, superb soundtrack and satisfying screenplay. It's rare that the thing that sets a film apart from pretty much all others in the genre is also the thing that threatens to drag it below them, and to complain about originality seems slightly hypocritical even if in this case the choice is totally tonally inconsistent. Thankfully, the quality of the overall piece makes this somewhat of an underrated gem. 7/10

A "Hail-Mary" Mission to Save Earth from its Dying Sun is an Intense, Beautifully Displayed Entertainment with Vibrant Visuals accompanied by a Sound-Track that Wraps the Film in a Packaged Presentation that is Highly Suspenseful and Literally Attacks with a Sensual Overload and Creates an Extreme In Your Face Experience. To say that You Experience the Movie is an Understatement. It Grips from the Get-Go with its Stunning Presentation and All the Meters are Pegging. The Look, the Sound, the Situation, and the Crew are there to be Absorbed into the Pure Fabric of the Viewer's Physiology. The Movie Attaches Itself to the Bodily Fibers and it Feels like the Gravitational Force of the Sun is so Amazingly Attractive that it is No Wonder that Humans have Worshiped its Gaze since the Dawn of Man. It's Pure Magnetic Magnificence and Life Sustaining Energy is by Definition "God".The Movie may Falter in the Final Act and can be Confusing, Chaotic, and Concluding the Story seems Difficult for the Writer (Alex Garland) and Director (Danny Boyle), but Boy the Voyage to the Center of the Solar System is Heaven for Adrenaline Addicts and Lovers of "Take a Ride" Cinema.Note...Many Folks like to show off when reviewing, or more precisely, attacking Films of this nature by pointing out the "Laws of Physics" and so forth. But it's been said a million times and is once again worth repeating. This is SCIENCE FICTION. With the emphasis on FICTION. In the world of fiction these observations based on reality render the criticisms really moot.

So I never heard of this movie before today so when I read about it on IMDb I thought the idea could make for a great film so I decided to watch it... So here's the thing I thought the way they decided to portray such an incident like the sun dying and them trying to save it as kinda ridiculous. My first thought was that yes the story would be based on the ship but there would be a fulfilling and rich back story on how this horrible thing came to be and on the characters lives so that I could fully fill connected but instead that was not the case. The whole plot was a bunch of Astronauts on a mission to save the sun. The rest of the film is just a bunch of effects and ridiculous situations. Overall I couldn't connect to this film at all. The main reason for that was because I didn't know anything about the characters and thus didn't really care what happened to them. It was a Good idea just in my opinion badly directed, It could of been great.
