Synopsis

Having lost his family in a car accident, Fanis is tormented by the same dream every night, in which he wanders through a dark forest, always ending up at a makeshift religious shrine. As he searches for the truth online, Fanis begins to suspect that some of the people he meets are not who they say they are, and he decides to videotape every aspect of his latest (and possibly last) meeting.

Reviews

Goodbaum This film was extremely horrible. The whole thing had absolutely zero plot and one single totally incoherent monologue substitutes. Retarded lack of any realism in the characters and settings are just dark blurs. There is such low image quality I don't know where to start. Basically the whole film you will be asking "why" and then when you are told why you will ask "why did I watch it? Why god why!?"The overall quality of films has really gone down in the last decade so I don't know how to rate this one but its definitely got to hae a lower rating on IMDb.People are easily scared by very shrill sounds and the sound of lions. That's the subconscious for you.
j_skov_nielsen There are a number of things I enjoyed about Subconscious. Firstly I was intrigued by its mysterious story which centers around Fannis the film's protagonist. After losing his family in an accident he is plagued by menacing nightmares in which he is alone and lost in a deep dark forest. In the forest he is confronted by a strange religious shrine. Although not shown Fannis explains he has had some bizarre encounters with mysterious women he meets on the internet. He decides to meet with another young woman but this time he plans on recording her in hopes that in some way she will help him uncover the mysterious nature of his dreams. Another aspect of this film I enjoyed was the atmosphere. I couldn't help but feel uneasy throughout Fannis' quest for answers. The film has an extremely creepy mood which i enjoyed very much. I found the subtle music to be extremely effective as well. The main actors do a very good job. You can really feel the tension between the two as they get to know one another. What I loved most about this film is that it scared the hell out of me! I jumped ( and maybe yelled) quite a bit. I also enjoyed how much of a mind bender this film is. It's rare to come across mentally engaging horror films these days. I cannot recommend this film enough if you are a horror fan you really need to see this!
