ImJacksSmirkingRevenge18 I literally just finished watching this film and to say that I was impressed is an understatement. This film is good, really good. It obviously has its flaws and some of the plot lines contained in the film are a little strange but overall the film works. The film follows Ben McGewen (Scott) and his band of thieves as they try to break into a bank vault through the wall of a night club where McGewen works. Over the course of the film, villains, the police and many other funny incidents are introduced to the audience and they all provide comedy and substance to the movie. There are several things in this film which must be applauded. First, Scott's performance is spot on and shows he can do characters outside of the Stifmeister. The supporting cast are also very good. However, what is truly great about this film, apart from the editing and direction, is the plot. Drew Daywalt and David Schneider (writers and directors) manage to create an environment where the audience are sitting on the edge of their seat waiting for the next bizarre occurrence to get in the way of the job. Sure, the conclusion is done well, but its the actually story that makes this film worth watching. Im surprised this film went straight to video and I hope that more people see it, if not for the immortal lines: Scott: So what are you doing now? Jeffrey Jay: I rob banks. Scott: What you doing here then? Jeffrey Jay: Robbing a bank. Brilliantly acted, directed and with a very suitable musical score I give this film an easy 8 out of 10.
Papasmurf4325 Before i start off i thought that this movie was very well done i will never understand how this movie didn't make it to theatresThis Movie was about a Con man Ben(Sean William Scott) He has put together a crew of specialists Rikki (Timm Sharp) Ben's good friend, Betty (Suzy Nakamura) a level headed computer Cracker, Jake (Jon Crye) A rough around the edges Demolitions expert, and Jeffrey (Patric Breen) An superstitious safe cracker that suffers from Seizures. Ben is given this Job By Gregory (Lou Diamond Phillips) a crime boss that Has Ben under his Thumb. The Catch with this movie is they have to break into a bank that is located to a popular after hours Dance Club to steal a Chineese Statue that is of great importance To Gregory. Ben plans to cover up his Heist with a Wild Rave Headed by a Less than Stellar DJ (Jody Rasicot). But the Heist is sniffed out By the local Chinese Triad tough guy Jin Sun (Terry Chen) and Ben is Held over a BarrelAs contrived and Mindless as this plot sounds this Movie is actually very well written and the Atmosphere plays a vital part in the story. Usually a movie like this is very Gimmicky it uses the party and Gross out Jokes to make up for Bad writing and direction, this movie dose't succumb to such cheap tricks. Also Sean William Scott Makes a Departure from his Stifler Character he usually Plays; Ben is quite the contrast to Stifler. Ben is a guy that has a lot on his mind not everything works out the way it should unlike Stifler who solves his problems with a smile. While Stifler has a very Devil May Care Attitude Ben is a very serious guy. Another Great part of this movie is the supporting cast Ben's Crew especially the computer expert Betty are very well acted. Also this movie has very great Villains Gregory (Played By Phillips) is a very great villain i personally think that Phillips is a very underrated actor. Also Jin Sun is great at moving the story along and putting more pressure on the already busy Ben. Unlike other "Party" movies that are more carefree You can feel the pressure that Ben is under. Also many problems arise in the form of a Club Going FBI agent (Played by Dave Foley), A Chinese Food delivery boy, and transvestite dancers that are in danger of short circuiting the whole party. A Strong part of this Movie is that it is also it's tight directing Daywalt And Schneider do a very good job of keeping up the pace of the movie. All in all i was very entertained by this movie and I hope to see Sean William Scott in more roles like this
nlit2088 This is one of the best movies I have seen the acting is good and there's definitely some good directing. Its definitely not a Seann William Scott movie but thats wot makes it good plus hes HOT (lol). Hes such a good actor and this film definitely shows it he has such a good range. Go and see it, girls will love it for seann guys will like it for the girls and the action even parents will like it OK maybe not the best movie to watch with the parents but they will like it. I recommend it to everyone. Just think of it as been the movie that foolproof wished it was.Do I need to say more, go and see it. Trust me u'll love it.
dilbertsuperman There's a good reason this movie was released direct to video- it's moronic. There are some fun rave scenes and some cute girls but the plot is non existent as are the laughs. I wound up fast forwarding through the scenes near the end because it was so tedious and boring. The best scene was bludgeoning a snake with a big floppy dildo, so that tells you how great this movie is- not real great. It's just dumb and boring from start to finish. They may have been able to save this movie if they had made it a porno because the plot and the acting is on par with a porno so you wouldn't notice the terrible parts if all those cute rave girls were doing something worth watching in between it all.
