A very strange movie. For example, Amber Smith, the only recognizable name in the cast, is featured on the video cover and does a lot of posing / teasing during the opening credits, then about 20 minutes in her screen character - an actress - is killed off, but we still get to see her in clips from the movie she was making before she died! "Star Struck" is a mixture of murder mystery / "Body Double" rip-off, and soft-core erotic thriller. It is quite sexy at times (one of its strong points is that all the women have natural, non-silicon-enhanced bodies), and the ending is truly bizarre and unexpected. Sure, you can complain about the often stupid dialogue and the bad acting, but the film's off-the-wall approach indicates that the people who made it weren't taking themselves too seriously to begin with. This movie was more funny and illogical than anything else, and the ending was terrible. The movie was really slowed down by the fact that there were long softcore sex scenes every couple of minutes. None of the characters really made any sense, especially the detective. All in all, it's a bad movie.

This was pretty bad, even for a straight-to-video thriller. The plot was long-winded and boring, the characters were unlikable (and generally unsexy), and the ending was weak and hypocritical. Speaking out against sexism in a generic erotic film? PLEASE! Why is deception and murder always the theme in these adult films? Can't people have sex and NOT be killed afterward? It just distracts from the real reason that people see these things in the first place: the nudity and sex. Look elsewhere.

Amber Smith is sexy, I knew that from before but in this movie she gets to show off her stuff. Watch this movie if you like Amber Smith. The movie is not too bad considering that it's a made for video thriller. It has a surprise ending which adds to the enjoyment.
