Wendy Hanler (Missi Pyle) is a hard working soccer mom of three kids. Her daughter Becca (Emily Osment) is on the losing Galaxy. She's frustrated and angry after the death of the father/couch. She wants to quit. Couch Kenny is an inept idiot who is moving to Milan. He tells them that famous Italian soccer player Lorenzo Vincenzo (Dan Cortese) is retiring from injury and wants to help couch them. It turns out that Lorenzo was just saying Si to get rid of Kenny. So Wendy decides to do a Mrs Doubtfire and pretends to be Lorenzo. The writing is a little clunky and wants to be funnier than it actually is. Missi Pyle as Lorenzo isn't that funny and very freaky looking. The basic story of the complicated mother daughter relationship is touching. The TV movie production looks to be on the cheaper side. It's a marginal TV movie. It's a family story dependent mostly on the performances of Missi Pyle and Emily Osment, and they do a commendable job.

To be honest, the only reason I watched this movie was because I'm a great fan of actress Cassie Scerbo have and been ever since watching her incredible performance in "Bring It On: In It To Win It." .. This movie is cute to watch as a family but I wouldn't say its absolutely amazing!! A good bunch of actors playing the roles with a really well-known actresses playing the leads (Missy Pyle & Emily Osment) but it sort of tells a story that has been out for years and just dressing it up again as something new. As well as this, the movie features good music and tells quite a heart-warming story of girl who will not give up on her dream. It's like "Mrs. Doubtfire" goes the way of "Jack Frost" i Think .. which were movies that helped deal with loss, sadness and disguise. With some comedic moments, a good cast and an acceptable story, Soccer Mom will be a favorite of young people and a good family film. An O.K movie, not the best and not the worst!! Rating: 6/10.
