I admire this film. Kurt Cobain is my idol and I think he was murdered. This film contains many evidence about this investigation. It is like documentary and I never bored while I was watching. I think Tom Grant have done everything that he could. It is very special film and I advise this film to people who wonder Kurt Cobain's death. Rest In Peace Kurt Cobain. We miss you.

Soaked in Bleach (2015) *** 1/2 (out of 4)Director Benjamin Slater takes a look at the private investigation by Tom Grant who was hired by Courtney Love to locate Kurt Cobain a week before his death. This documentary takes a look at his investigation as well as his thoughts on what really happened to Cobain. The term "conspiracy theory" is discussed early on in this documentary and for good reasons. Since the death of Cobain there have been countless theories out there on whether or not the Nirvana singer actually killed himself. This documentary doesn't try to pretend it's anything other than proof that the singer did not commit suicide and that Courtney Love had a role in his death. The main theory here is that Cobain was about to leave Love, which means she would have gotten very little money in the divorce settlement. The theory is that someone shot up Cobain with a large amount of heroin and then staged the suicide. There's discussion of various issues with the police work done at the scene and the now infamous suicide note is also debated. It's clear that Grant and the filmmaker believe that Love had Cobain killed so that she would inherit his fortune. The great thing about conspiracy theories is that we'll probably never really know the truth. I've seen documentaries that seem to show Cobain did commit suicide and then I've seen others where it seems he was murdered. I wasn't there so I can't say what really did happen but as a documentary I found SOAKED IN BLEACH to be extremely well-made and there's no question that it's entertaining. The documentary features interviews with the main investigator as well as others who knew Cobain. We also get some re-enactments that try to show the state that Love was in a week before Cobain's death. No matter what you think about the possible murder or suicide, this documentary is highly entertaining and is certainly worth watching.

This is a MUST WATCH even if you don't like his music and are a true crime buff, this is a must watch. I put 'spoiler' just in case, but this documentary is beyond words. It has motivated many of us to do a march for justice next April 8th to demand for the Department of Justice to investigate this case. Even if you don't like his music, you have to care about him as a person. His life was snuffed out and NOBODY so much as questioned it. I also think all media, including MTV should all come out and admit they did not do their homework. They took the words of the most likely suspect. In our country, no person should be killed for their money, covered up by SPD and she is able to walk around, spend his money. yes HIS money. I cannot wait to see more from Benjamin Statler as he is amazing. Loved Jerry Hauck and Daniel Roebuck as well. Great, strong cast.

This was a well made film and I believe the intention behind the film is genuine, one that is seeking what the makers feel is justice. However, I'm not sure anyone who made this film has ever loved or deeply known a heroin addict. I have. An active heroin addict is not a healthy, happy person. An active heroin addict with a child who has a history of being removed from their home and what appears to be an impending divorce is most definitely not happy. With 30 approaching, being terribly addicted to heroin leads to a person who does not like to look in the mirror anymore. This does not mean he committed suicide, but it troubles me Cobain was portrayed as so happy, so healthy, when any longterm drug addict knows they've burnt endless bridges, wasted too much money, lied to and deceived every person they care about. And as far as being "suicidal" one thing a drug addict knows above and beyond anything else is that they might not die today but they are slowly killing themselves regardless.
