One way to look at this film is as clichéd Sathyan Anthikadu reworking his timeworn themes of village life and life lessons. Another way, for the less cynical, is as a lovely little ode to the quintessential Kerala village and its denizens. The sense of comfort one gets from this predictable but well made movie is probably more for the homesick Malayalee.Mohanlal, is of course typically reliable in his role as a bachelor who lives for his mother and who is genuinely thrown off balance by the sudden appearance of a teenager claiming to be his son. The culmination doesn't really matter, it's all about familiar comforts and quintessential Sathyan Anthikadu.
