reader viewer The movie is really strange. Yes, it can be entertaining due to natural acting. But is that it? It makes mockery of marriage as if live in relationships are great. Two of the three main characters were confused and untrustworthy, They were promoting drinking and smoking and doubt---what love????? no idea of going through pain, bearing some pain....nothing.....the main characters were so selfish they played with another woman's life. Chopra's character is very selfish. Rajput Singh's character is selfish and stupid in the beginning but does fall in love. But not enough to go through any pain....such sad characters---nothing to look up to. no one would want children, siblings, friends, or spouse like these. Sad depiction of youth. No achievement in always taking care of yourself. it is when we care for others that we are capable of showing we can love. And people in India have real families, they have to cut down on guests --an average wedding can have over 500 guests, we do not need to buy guests. Most of the guests are known to the family for a very long time. Stupid film. We should be allowed to give a zero grade. Something less than a 1, or even negative. -10 for the movie.

tuhin chowdhury Zero... because everybody is running around in circles. Its like a dog chasing its own tail story. I pay to go to a movie for the story. A story that intrigues and entertains. What irritates me is when the story is like cotton candy. You want to have one but after having few bites, you are no more interested. Other than the script and story, this film is beautifully directed. There are movies based on complications of marriage, fear of commitment and live-in relations which are really good. This film seems to just titillate the audience with fact of non committal side of a live-in relation. There are real world examples of love stories which crumble after marriage. Take example of Eminem. He married and divorced his same ex-wife twice but still they are very much in love and are together. I just believe the story could have been better written.

namashi_1 Talented Filmmaker Maneesh Sharma's 'Shudh Desi Romance' depicts romance in a complicated yet funny way, that both, entertains & engrosses, at most parts, along-with Proficient Performances from its reliable cast. 'Shudh Desi Romance' is a story about the hair-raising minefield between love, attraction & commitment.'Shudh Desi Romance' is light-hearted & progressive. The protagonist, a confused wreck of a guy, is an interesting person to follow in this journey. The women, on the other-hand, are as confused as the protagonist. But thats what makes 'Shudh Desi Romance' work, its the unlikeliness & the unpredictability of its characters that engages. Jaideep Sahni's Screenplay is well-done & fast-moving. However, I found the final 25-minutes completely bland. Though it culminates with a mushy moment, the climax, other-wise, is not worthy enough of a much superior film. Maneesh Sharma's Direction is neat. He handles this Rom-Com with the right amount of confidence. Cinematography & Editing are good. Music by Sachin-Jigar is excellent.Performance-Wise: Sushant Singh Rajput is highly competent. He portrays the confused hero with rare ease & understanding. Parineeti Chopra is flawless. What a splendid performer! Debutant Vaani Kapoor is endearing. Rishi Kapoor is fantastic, as always. The veteran is a delight to watch. Rajesh Sharma does well in a cameo.On the whole, 'Shudh Desi Romance' is an experience worth watching.

Arnav Goswami watched SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE ...its brave of the makers to make a movie on such a taboo topic in India(live in n affairs)...but in pursuit of uniqueness & to be the first to brake this glass ceiling of the typical Indian definition of "love" ..they compromised with the quality of the plot..that much that no matter how broad minded you are..at one point you gona yell Bullsh!t...things shown here does happen in real life BUT not as FKing frequently as they shown..especially to same people again n again(I understand its a movie)..also the makers save themselves from whole lot of trouble n melodrama by showing that the trio of the lead is orphan(yes)..seriously its bad they haven't shown many things Now good things about it...1)shows vibrant colours of Rajasthan with its fine cinematography n screenplay 2)whole cast has done a good job especially Rishi Kapoor with his witty dialogues 3)& good music only these 3 . makes this film WATCHABLE ...once in a life time
