Elizabeth can't dance, not even jump rope. It's the what worst movie. If you need to waste your time, then this is how to do it. Not one person could dance. The harder Elizabeth tried to be tough and angry it just became so funnier and funnier. Don't waste your time!

I'm giving this 3 out of 10 stars, but I'm going to try to be nice in explaining why. Newsday (here in New York) gave this No Stars and called it the worst movie of the year back in 1995 (And in my opinion, "Joe's Apartment" was the worst movie of 1995, not this). I was only 16 when this movie was released in theaters, and I wouldn't see it until 2014, on a night when my son was in bed early and there was nothing to do. I noticed this was coming on, and even though it had only 1 star out of 4 on the TV ratings, I said to my husband "Let's watch it. How bad can it be?". Well, I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it enough to give it 1 star. It sends out a terrible message: That to get ahead in life, you've got to be a slut. There's the constant flashing of breasts and butts, but even if you like nudity in films, you'll get tired of that quick because of the plot (or lack thereof). In fact, there was only one part of this movie that I can recommend watching, and that's the 'sex in the pool' scene. Not that I liked it, but because it's so over the top and physically impossible that it's unintentionally hilarious! So if you want to watch this movie, I suggest fast forwarding an hour, watch the sex in the pool, then turn it off because it really doesn't get any better from there. I watched all of it, and as soon as the credits came on, my husband and I said at the same time "Thank God!". I'll never watch this movie again.

"Showgirls" is an exotic dancer's fantasy of making it big in Las Vegas. It's not like the imagined talent and fame in "Chicago (2002)." It's more like the climb in "Black Swan (2010)," but with the "who you know" angle rather than mere skill. The most notable aspect of this movie is its female-centered erotica throughout. While movies such as "In the Realm of the Senses (1976)" are much more revealing toward sex acts, "Showgirls" emphasizes nudity; and keen remote-control handlers can easily verify what they thought they just saw. Such daring is a plus, even though this movie is surprisingly lacking in extreme close-ups. (They seem to angle it more towards sexual dance.)What makes this movie unique is the main character's defensiveness. She refuses to be taken advantage of. The tricky part for the prophesying viewer is that Nomi reacts in ever-different ways (which are often extreme), with perceptions of people's motives that don't always jive with YOUR perceptions. Her moods may easily be seen as random, as if the scriptwriter couldn't draft a consistent personality. Anyway, it's a minus for those few consumers who watch it for the story — which is a bit long (video: 2 hours 11 minutes).Although it's not a tragedy, it includes bad things happening to good people, further lowering the entertainment value.

showgirls exploited the show dancing scene in Las Vegas where it's not all glamorous as it seems where you are today's newest star to tomorrows has being and how vindictive it can be but it was a big challenge for actress Elisabeth Berkley known to many fans as Jesse Spano in saved by the bell but this time the actress swapped bayview high for the city of sin as Nomi Malone with high hopes of making it after she has her belongings stolen by the guy who gave her a lift by leaving Nomi sans baggage and money ends up being befriended by local exotic dancer Molly Abrams played by Gina Ravera that takes an distraught Nomi under her wing until she finds her feet the only way is by getting a job working as an exotic dancer whilst she was dancing she got spotted by veteran dancer Crystal Connors played by the ever talented Gina Gershon scouting for her protégé but for Nomi the reality sank in after she made the short list as the movie progressed it got serious after Zack Carey uncovered something Scandalous about Nomi's past before she embarked on an vendetta against her friends attackers but it ended up with Crystal in hospital and Nomi leaving Vegas for her next destination plus baggage and money but after years of being heavenly blasted by critics the film finally met it's calling by the fans that garnered it a cult classic that gave Berkley the respect that she deserved that's why I am giving this an 10/10 with and elevated 20 stars and leave your ambitions at the door.FRANKIE HOLTZMANN SMALESALIENBUGSTOMPERFAN
