An examination of the history and nature of erotic content in sequential art.I am not sure where this film came from. Based on the running time, I get the impression it was made for TV, probably French TV. And it is a shame, because I feel like we never really get into the subject matter in any depth. We get to know a bit about some of the bigger artists -- which is nice -- but not about the topic in a larger context. At the very least, it could be pointed out that nude art has existed for centuries... probably since the dawn of time.A good point was made about the appeal, though... for those who are attracted to such images, it does invite a use of the imagination, which is far more stimulating than simply looking at a photograph or video. The artist merely plants a seed. I suppose this is the case for any comic art -- it is different in our minds than in any film adaptations, for example.

An interesting introduction to the universe of sexual comics, a look into a world that I knew a little about, not much, but who hasn't seen erotic comics in one form or another! This is an introduction to how it all began and some of the artist that have and are still influencing the world of erotic comics. It is also a look into different persons and their styles and a little about the differences around the world of comics and censor ship etc.A short documentary, but it gives you names and styles to search for if it catches your interest, there is a lot about different people, different styles and how it all comes in many different shapes and sizes.
