Based upon interviews I've seen on other sites, Pete Jacelone is one of those directors who just doesn't get it. In one interview he states that SCULPTURE cost about 100 grand, and he doesn't understand why it hasn't made any money back. He feels he's making little masterpieces and is completely ignorant of how bad his films are.Not only is SCULPTURE horrible in every way--acting, gore effects, story-- he is one of the worst directors of all time. If Ed Wood were alive today, he would be jealous. I honestly don't think Jacelone knows how to direct, but it appears he thinks he's quite good at it.The murders are completely fake, and you can slice through the homo-erotic imagery with a knife (yeah, a pun). Although you can see the horrific edge to the story, the ending is a major letdown, mostly due to some of the worst prosthetics ever seen in a film (which are stupidly shown several times as if they are completely realistic).Probably the only saving grace is the actor (Dustin Kerns) playing the brother, who's pretty good, but he's overshadowed by poor and laughable acting all around. The cross-dresser was an odd choice, and Marv Blauvelt loses his temper in what can best be described as a Donald Duck moment.Yeah, Jacelone needs to rethink his career. Perhaps he can take up sculpting...

First off, I have to say that this Indie film has an amazing ensemble of cast members. Alan Rowe Kelly was great, as was Marv Blauvelt & Susan Adriensen, but... Raine Brown took the cake with an amazing performance! I loved how her character progressed from sweet and innocent, to just down right crazy. The movie has a few slow parts in it, but when it's all said and done, you realize the importance of why some of the set-ups were the way they were. Once the blood started flowing, it FLOWED! If you like gore (which I do) then you'll love this movie. A great story, great cast, and lots of gore. What more could you ask for? Check it out!

The main features of the independent movie scene which attract me more than the celebrity dominated, hyped up, big bucks mainstream output are the little gems of films produced in the indie sector. These productions are often based on original ideas involving a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and skill by all concerned - actors, actresses, directors, producers and crew - despite financial limitations. Sculpture starring Raine Brown, Misty Mundae (aka Eric Brown) and Dustin Kerns falls perfectly into this category.Raine is a talented actress who has displayed tremendous versatility through her involvement in over 30 films - many in leading roles. She has certainly made intelligent use of the experience gained to the extent that I am confident that whenever I view a film, in which Raine has a prominent role, satisfaction is guaranteed. In Sculpture, she portrays a young artist with a split personality whose mood swings between joy and pleasure to torment. When in the grips of the latter, she adopts the attitude of a demented, piranha fish. In order to make her point, she displays great multi-tasking ability by weaving an attractive spiders web to entice victims and then skilfully utilising an array of DIY and Kitchen implements and ornaments. The viewer's curiosity regarding the possible appearance of the show-stopping Sculpture is raised immediately in the opening sequence and as the film progressed I was constantly speculating on what the finished article would look like. The opening scenes also contain brief flashbacks which provide sufficient initial background detail before plunging the viewer into the main thread of the storyline. Further details of the past are then neatly presented in further flashback sequences as the present day events unfold. These flashbacks are just adequate and not overdone in this entertaining and interesting film. Two other actors with substantial roles in the film are Misty Mundae and Dustin Kerns. I have seen Misty's name mentioned previously but this was the first viewing of her in a film. She certainly attracts attention with her effervescent screen personality and mischievous look on this occasion. Dustin is a young actor who was in the Bollywood film 'New York' which starred a couple of my favourite actors from that genre namely Katrina Kaif and John Abraham

The only reason I gave this one star is because I couldn't give a negative number. Absolutely awful. After the first thirty minutes blood was running from my eyes and ears. Only watch this if you are interested in a slow painful way to commit suicide. If you liked the "Saw" series you will hate this movie. If you hated the "Saw" series you will hate this movie. If you were indifferent to the "Saw" series you will hate this movie. This is the kind of movie they should show convicts on death row 24 hours a day. Watching two feral cats fight in your bedroom at 4 A.M. is more pleasant than watching this movie. Having your septic tank overflow inside your house on Thanksgiving day while all your relatives are visiting would be more enjoyable. Take my advice and skip this steaming turd.
