As a huge Scooby Doo fan, naturally I wanted to see Scooby Doo Goes Hollywood. I will admit I was a little disappointed by it, but I didn't think it was bad. The music is great and true to the style of the decade it's set in, and I liked the song sung by Fred, Daphne and Velma and the duet between Scooby and Cher(ie). The voice work is still excellent, particularly from Don Messick, Casey Kasem and Frank Welker, and I enjoyed the spoofs on Happy Days, Charlie's Angels, Sonny and Cher and Superman. My favourite is the one on Sound of Music, which is still very funny. The characters still have their likability. Scooby and Shaggy still make me smile and laugh, and while underused Fred, Daphne and Velma manage to not be dull.Scooby Doo Goes Hollywood isn't perfect however. My feelings on the animation were mixed. The colours are lively and plentiful and some of the background art is nice, but the editing could have done with being more fluid and some of the character designs are not as strong as they could have been. The concept was intriguing and it was very interesting at the start. However, the story is rather thin and predictable, and perhaps rushed too, with too much focus on the jokes and spoofs in alternative to a coherent storyline.I was also mixed on the writing, most of the jokes and spoofs are very funny, but there are also some lame puns along the way and one or two of the spoofs due to feeling skimmed over don't quite make the grade. All in all, a decent enough special, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. 6/10 Bethany Cox

I actually remember seeing this animated movie of Scooby Doo as a special on Prime Time. I think ABC aired it on either a Saturday or a Sunday night in 1979 and I can't recall, but I think at the time, they were showing the Scooby Doo episodes of 1978 on Scooby's All Stars or maybe it was right before Scooby and Scrappy Doo aired that fall.Anyway, it's been so long since I've seen it, but from what I can recall, it was about Shaggy convincing Scooby that he is better than a Saturday morning TV star and should pursue a career as a movie star and being in spoofs of Happy Days, Charlie's Angels, Saturday Night Fever, Superman, and more. Definitely 70's. And I believe that Shaggy and Scooby drove the Hollywood producers crazy trying to market themselves. Fred, Daphne, and Velma are in this special, but their roles are smaller. I guess that was a sign of things to come on future Saturday morning incarnations of Scooby Doo. I did find this on video and rented it a few years ago. Man did it bring back some lost memories. I recommend giving this movie a try just for kicks.

The special begins with Scooby and Shaggy fed up with their Saturday morning lineup. As the special continues Scooby gets less and less sure about his new role after all of Shaggy's and Scooby's attempt for Scooby to get more famous fails. All of the Scooby Doo cast members from the Scooby Doo Show are back and are surprised about Scooby's decision. The special also spoofs several 70's films and television series like Happy Days, Sonny and Cher, Charles Angels, and an few more. An song was also sung by Frank (Fred), Pat (Velma), and Heather (Daphine) as they and eventually his fans miss Scooby. It was an team effort as Scooby decided to return to his own show. Overall, it wasn't bad but still, Unless you love Scooby don't watch it. Unless you want to. Oh by the way, In the spoofs, they should have the stars of the series they were spoofing to help out as well.Final Scooby Score: 8 out of 10 Final animation score: 6 out of 10

When this show was on I watched it every time I could! I thought that the characters were really funny and all had great personalities. The animation in My opinion was crisp, clean, and really clear. Not to mention beautiful! Most of the characters in this show are hilarious like the Looney Tunes characters that we all love. in My opinion these characters are the funnies and talented ever seen. In fact, The things that goes on in this series' cartoons are in My opinion nuts which that is what makes them hilarious! There are so many to like and laugh at and the silly things they do! If you like the original Looney Tunes then I strongly recommend that you watch this show!
