I don't think this is the worst scooby doo movie. It's just not as good as the previous one. There was no memorable music or moments. I just think this film focuses way too much on Fred and Daphane and Shaggy and Velma's relationship more then anything.
What really annoyed me was that they had Richard Moll (the voice of Two Face from the DCAU shows) wasted.
However the acting is good and the story mystery was decent.

The gang goes over to help Daphne's uncle at his country club so they can have a job and pay off some debts. At the country club there is a legend of a lake monster. A green monster breaks up a celebration of members and scares everyone who signed up away.In this Scooby Doo movie all the new people playing are different. Velma, with over sized glasses, Daphne with red hair and Fred with brown hair and Shaggy with too much hair. The story is annoying especially with the guy that plays Shaggy/Nick Palatas with the phony forced voice. He is loud and they make him sing a lot in this movie and he sings flat. He is no Casey Kasem or Matthew Lillard. The characters over act, over dress and just stink accept for Fred/Robbie Amell and Scooby/ Frank Welker The writers put romance into the story that takes away from the story. The movie gets better toward the end. It is funnier and scarier. It involves demonic possession of one of the characters. There is a nice colorful happy ending..

Since when did Scooby become about the gang dating each other? Ewww. Half way through, my kids asked, if it's called Scooby Doo and the Curse of the Lake Monster, how come there is hardly any Scooby in it? Seriously, half the movie was about relationships, the mystery was secondary. Not really a SPOILER, but don't read ahead if you don't want to know useless absurd plot points: Fred secretly dating Daphne but hanging out with other girls, Daphne trying to make him jealous with boys, Shaggy secretly in love with Velma, Scooby jealous of the date between Shaggy and Velma. It's just wrong. And musical numbers? They were cute, but since when does Scooby Doo have musical numbers? On the plus side, it had Marion Ross (I hope she was paid a bunch), a guy in a rubber suit, and live action versions of classic gags, like running in and out of doors in a long hallway. The actors playing Shaggy and Velma were good, but please get a blond Fred (and not a dark haired guy in a wig), it's just wrong.

Firstly I read the other review that said only kids'll like this, well I'm 21 and a big fan of the series. Onto my review: Imagine a Scooby Doo episode from the good ol' days: you know they go somewhere and they meetonly 2ish people being the suspects, find out about a monster and its history than they go around clue hunting and hilairty ensues. 10 mins into the movie, or as I'm gonna call it episode, i was taken back to the original scooby doo episodes as described above. So many funny moments, so many nods to us old fans... i mean hell they go scuba diving into an underwater cave hideout type thing. Sure there are lovey dovey moments which I personally hate BUT for once they didn't annoy me.So in closing I say go in if you want to see a traditional episode of scooby doo but in live action as thats what i saw. This has personally been the best scooby doo thing ever created after poor don messick died. I had been counting down the days for this to air and it lived upto every one of my expectations. God bless them for bringing this to life as it makes me forget that whats new scooby doo ever existed.Oh and I loved the hippie scene/kickback to the 60s at the end! They had everything a fan of the 60s show could want, some people just didn't see that
