I love horror anthologies, so maybe im biased. i try to watch every anthology that comes out and i usually enjoy them. However,, this was truly an entertaining film. I'm really surprised at the poor reviews and those who accused the staff of writing reviews. If you like tales from the darkside, these stories are very similar. The acting, stories, and spfx are all on the same par as that show. The stories are pg 13 level scary and fun to watch. I sometimes wonder what people expect from a low budget horror movie and this movie by FAR out does most indi horror out there just because it's watchable! If I had a complaint, it would be that the pace in some of the stories is a bit slow. I really think you can't review a low budget film the same way you would, say, Ironman. That said this movie is a strong 7 and would be an 8 if the pacing was a bit faster! Happy viewing!

I'm sorry but seriously? SPOILERS BELOW.After watching the first two stories I could watch no more. It was too bad. I logged in here to read what I assumed would be similar reviews. Instead I see WAY too many 6-10 star reviews.Look, I recognize that many if not most beginning directors, actors, and writers enter the industry in the horror genre and that's OK. But I wish they and the associated crew members wouldn't try to bid up their efforts like this. Take the criticism to heart and learn from it and go on to make better movies. The first story (The Crossing) was awful. Acting was way over the top. Characters were walking cartoons. Makeup was poor (especially the dirty teeth). The Mexican store clerk was so stereotypical he would've been at home in a Merry Melodies cartoon. SEEEE, SIGNOR! What was wrong with the sound? I had to turn up the volume to hear dialog, it was so poorly mixed. When the driver started spouting profound statements before killing the two stooges I cringed. Please. The cheapness of the production was enhanced by having the characters interact with things off camera. Like one of the killers prodding something but the camera didn't show it or the zombies eating someone but all we saw was his face. The ending was stupid. Why did the agents shoot the woman? I mean, a white woman in obvious distress comes out of the desert and you SHOOT her? She obviously wasn't a zombie. The second story wasn't quite as bad but made little sense. And another dumb ending. I had enough at that point. This movie was poor and should have ratings that reflect that. Instead I see some as high as 9 or 10! Come on guys, let US review YOUR work. Go back and try again.

All of the films were decent, none were that great. My favorite was probably the vampire one, although I thought it seemed a bit confused. Why exactly was the protagonist seeing his dead wife as a ghost, when there really was no significance of it? I also thought it was interesting to repeatedly see the girl in the high heels walking, up until the last film where she is found to be the main character. The re-membered one was also solid, but I found it extremely dumb that the protagonist in that was one of the detectives in the clown one. I also enjoyed seeing Corbin Bleu as a clown (compliments to the makeup artists, not to the high school musical star). All in all, a somewhat decent film. 4 stars out of 10.

This film is more than an homage to the classic monster films we know and love. It combines modern visions with a deep thinking. "The Crossing" takes on zombies and immigration with Bill Oberst Jr. leading the charge, "Taejung's Lament" twists together Asian ghosts and vampires, "Re-Membered" gives us a new look at Tell Tale Heart and Frankenstein, Corbin Bleu proves he isn't that kid from High School Musical anymore when he gets "Clowned" in this all heart and a lot of bite were-clown story - Emanuel cleverly toys with our fear of clowns mixed with cannibalism and werewolves, while a voodoo grandparent's blessing of true love may in fact be a curse. ~ Creepercast
