I'm with everyone else who says this is one of the scariest movies ever made. I was 12 years old in January of 75 when this aired and yes, the movie lulls you into a false state of relaxation as the supernatural events are all debunked. After the last commercial, I was all set for the happy ending and the credits roll, then it was off to bed for another day of 7th grade. No one was conditioned for twist endings back then, especially in a TV movie, and then the last 10 minutes terrified me. Yes, terrified, I'm not kidding. I think I slept in my parents room the next week and when they ran it again in the summer of 75 or 76, I would shut the TV off when the previews came on. As a lot of 10 to 15 year olds back then who are all grown up now, it lives on in my memory as a classic.

Back in the mid-1970s there was quite a bit of interest in the Bermuda Triangle, and a few movies were made about the subject. In my opinion, this is the best of those films.Kim Novak (who is absolutely beautiful here) is involved in a sailing trip through the Bermuda Triangle. There are lots of sinister goings-on, and Novak eventually needs to be rescued by Coast Guard Capt McClure and his crew.Good photography, beautiful scenery and great work by Novak and McClure lift this film above the usual 1970s TV movie standards. I won't ruin the ending, but it still scares me, 36 years later! Hold on to something and watch this, but you've been warned about the unexpected, bizarre, and very scary ending. Not for the faint of heart.

I saw this move for the first time in 1975 and lost several nights of sleep. I saw it again in 1976 at age 16 with the same affect. I have tried everywhere to locate it to no avail. The local TV stations could not help (although I don't think they tried to hard.)The previous commentaries sum the movie up pretty well, I don't think my two cents will add much more.I must comment on the ending scene however...pure genius, creepy and terrifying, I still remember that scene as though I had just turned off the TV. I hope we can convince someone to make it available to us.This web sight is very helpfull at least now we have more information on the actors etc. Paul Plymouth Mass U.S.A.

I remember when this was second run (it was part of some weekly TV-movie series, similar to the NBC Mystery Movie but without the recurring characters). I missed the original running, but a lot of kids at school were talking about it the next morning, so when reruns came around (maybe 6 months later), I made sure to watch it.I remember that it was eerie (not really frightening, but more suspenseful), especially the twist at the end (won't give it away). Probably not the best movie for a nine-year-or-so-old kid to see on his own (thanks to my parents having friends over to play bridge or something, I got to see it on colour TV instead of my dad's old b/w) but at least I had something to talk about the next day at school, with all the other kids who missed it the first time! Had no idea who the actors were at the time, but Doug McClure's acting was the best. Everyone else's wasn't terrific, but good enough for TV, and the writing was stellar - too bad they churn out such junk and charge you $8 or whatever it is now, when you used to see good stuff for "free" (you just had to put up with commercials).Would like to see it again, because the rerun (1976?) was the last time I saw it.
