Bob Munro and his dysfunctional family rent an RV for a road trip to the Colorado Rockies, where they ultimately have to contend with a bizarre community of campers. RV benefits strictly from the late and great Robin William's talent, Josh Hutcherson as a little rapper and that freaking Stallone impression was spot on. Jeff Daniels was also amazing and there's some great messages about parenting alongside the great humor this is definitely one of Robin's most Underrated Works. (8/10)

RV is not hilariously hysterical, cerebral fun or even original. It borrows from National Lampoon's Vacation films to John Hughes films such as Planes, Trains and Automobiles.Robin Williams promises his family a holiday in Hawaii but his boss lands him with a last minute merger deal so he takes them on a cross country trip in a RV while secretly working in his business project as he does not want his wife to find out the real purpose of the trip. Along the way Williams gets into all sorts of scrapes, embarrasses his family and meets up repeatedly with Jeff Daniels who is also on a family road trip. Its kind of strange to see Williams doing broad comedy after he reinvented himself as a serious actor, especially one who played psychopaths in several movies.I guess he got a good paycheck because you always get the feeling that he is slumming it. The film is decent enough, sporadically amusing and some of the slapstick is well done. However it does remind of you of similar road trip films from the 1980s and the original comedic spark from Williams is lacking.

In the vein of the Chevy Chase classic National Lampoons Vacation, In an effort to spend some time with his family during the school holidays, Robin Williams takes them on a trip across America in a RV. That's where the similarities with the 80's comedy classic end as Robin Williams, who has saved worse movies than this, has his work well and truly cut out here.Singer Jo-Jo pops up as Williams daughter and Jeff Daniels has a decent role as an eager to help fellow RV driver on the road with his family too, and Not even he can help Williams save it. Williams is watchable as always, but if I had to choose between rewatching this and going to a firework display on a very rainy night. RV would probably lose.

Don't listen to these uptight IMDb users. This movie is great for all ages. Sure the acting isn't the best, but what did you people think you were going to see? "Titanic" but in an RV? Its a good story that a lot of families could relate to. The whole cast is funny. The humor is on the dry side, so I guess it doesn't appeal to a lot of people. The jokes are pretty original/unpredictable (except for the "sewage" scenes of course). I've seen this movie many times, and it always delivers. Many people seem to be taking this movie too seriously. For example: "I thought Robin Williams' family was spoiled and petulant and irritating. Then they had a superior, supercilious attitude toward the other family, who at least liked each other and were kind and helpful. I know we were supposed to think they were hicks and laugh at them, but I simply couldn't." I don't think that person even watched the movie. The bad singing scene always leaves me in tears of laughter. I definitely recommend this film for when you are sad on a late Friday night.
