Rupture is a surprising edge of your seat thriller from Steven Shainberg, I am glad I took the time to watch the movie. Noomi is at her finest in this suspense thriller a must see on a dark night.

Noomi Rapace seems to be working hard in taking on challenging roles in her career and RUPTURE is such a role. Unfortunately, despite the physical performance she gets to give, RUPTURE is a lesser film and one that suffers from an all-too-familiar air of predictability. She plays an ordinary mother who gets kidnapped by mysterious strangers and subjected to various cheesy fear tests in a locked room, which mainly involve her being menaced by CGI spiders. The film plays out at a slow pace and gradually builds to a left-of-field climax that relies too heavily on more CGI for effect. It's certainly not the worst plot I've seen, but it is limited and similar plots have been done better previously.

This could have been a pretty good movie. But somehow it just never gets around to hooking you into it. I had never really thought about it before but it may very well in this case have to do with noomi rapace. I've seen her in a number of different movies but it was finally in this one something odd I realized has been there all along, there is just something about her that makes you not really care or feel invested in her characters. The movie had a lot of potential for its creepy vibe and off kilter scenery but ultimately the characters just never gelled.

First of all, everything is so noisy, if the starlet is trying to go through the tunnels, she needs to be quieter, and not bouncing her feet, then let's put her to where she is quieter throughout the movie. Fix her hair, every once in a while. She needs to have some kind of weapon, besides her arms and mouth breathing heavily. It's a good plot but needs some REAL stuff too. Now she is on her bed and still in the "world". Where's her son??Rupture WILL take her over, but only with the Spiders that she is deathly afraid of, will make her who she really is. And more of the "bad" people who are trying to take over the world. It's a good ending, but "NO". Poor kid.
