Synopsis

Two lads in Edinburgh embark on a non-violent spree of robberies. They dress up in clown masks and act as modern highwaymen, robbing coach loads of tourists in the highlands. In the process they become folk heroes to the locals. Their adventures make for a whimsical and gentle comedy, in the Bill Forsyth vein.

justgillo-95464 Seen this when it first came out and a firm family favourite, absolutely hilarious! A film which never tires of making me laugh, timeless despite it being set in the 1980's. The humour and struggles are there for all to see, especially between the two main characters and the police, the Scots & American drafted in makes it comedic!Love it!!
chrisleary186 I have watched this film so many times in the last 28 years and it is so memorable as each scene that is shot was so brilliant that it makes the film so amazing as a whole. From the first attempted stick up till the last ride through Edinburgh with Big Country blaring. What more could you ask. I have been going to all the places that they filmed and it was an Honor to have my picture taken where Ronnie and Will stood and went on their bike. I recently found Joe Mullaney who works for a role play company as I always wondered what he looks like now. I really hope this film makes a comeback at some point as it really is an iconic film and it would be great to see Ronnie and Will back on the big screen.
neilprivate Please post if you find this film on sale...or if you can find the rights to it. I'm desperate to sign it up and resell it on DVD.This is one of my favourite films of all time. I have looked high and low for a copy. I now find myself in the position of head of acquisitions at a film distributor...and I'm really looking for the film owner. If you are the owner or know who it is please let me know. I'd love to get this out on sale again as I love it, but also I think it's an undiscovred treat for the rest of the world that never saw it.CheersNeil
uglyklown There has not been a finer film made in Scotland ever, so sod you braveheart.........I saw this film at the cinema and was captured by it. The film is about two every day losers who are trying to find a way to escape their every day drudgery and make some cash too. So they come up with a way of robbing American tourist cruising the highlands on coach tours. After some trial and error they invent the clown and wolfman routine and become Scotland's public enemy number one.The film has charm, love interests, robin hood influences, comedy and will's wart...........Also for all those Two Towers fans get a chance to see Bernard Hill before his defence of Helm's deep.A small note to Warner Bros. who own the distribution rights to this film. Get it on DVD now. This is unavailable on DVD or VHS anywhere in the world. I have no way of seeing this gem without paying £40 plus on EBAY for some dodgy secondhand ex-rental copy. So pull your fingers out, and let others find this little beauty.....
