Some guy thought he had a great idea for a movie and managed to get it made and distributed on just a few dollars. That is really the greatest aspect of this direct to DVD stinker--that it was made at all.I read the only 2 reviews of this film before I rented it. Despite the gushing and overly praised hype about this movie (usually a sign that a shill or someone related to the movie wrote it). I went ahead and rented it despite the warning signs.I had to resist shutting it of immediately. During the opening sequences I thought to myself, "Duped again!' The main character puppet was just so poorly made. It was basically a rubber hand puppet with a barely workable mouth. They had another puppet or re-used the same one and tried to make it look like a marionette for a few sequences. It didn't work. You would think that they would have had this problem worked out and tested before shooting, but I guess they thought no one would notice. Well, I noticed that and a couple of hundred other gaffes within the first 10 minutes and wondered why this film ever came to fruition, The only emotion this mess would get from any audience would be extreme agitation.-- especially towards any puppet that remotely looked like Chowder head. Doesn't deserve a star and anyone who said it was good and gave it more than 1 star is full of sh1t. See fake review below.

After Rngmaster Rick dies under mysterious circumstances, his granddaughter, Casey, inherits his doll/co-stay from his children's' TV show days, not knowing that the pint-sized puppet is alive thanks to good old granddad selling his soul to the devil for fame. Now anyone is fair game as the doll goes on a mini-rampage. Even at barely over an hour, this movie choose to move at a pretty leisurely pace and still feels padded a tad and the film stumbles to it's foreseeable, but unsatisfying conclusion. While not a good film by any stretch of the imagination, it was still much the better then the similarly plotted "Triloquist" (not that that's a great accomplishment or anything) Eye Candy: Erica Slider & Nina Tepes show everything (full frontal and ass)My Grade: D+

I really enjoyed this movie.I always liked horror movies about living toys, dolls or puppets. This one is about a kids show's star puppet Charlie Chowderhead being willed to his TV co-star's grand daughter.Grandpa kept Charlie locked up since Circus Town's cancellation in the late 50's and brings him out during an interview with a young reporter big mistake! Casey is given Charlie by her grandfathers doting nurse Betty. Then the movie really kicks into creepy! Charlie is a frightening puppet (I wonder how he stayed on TV?) there are some creative kills, stunts, effects, great nightmare sequences and some very well done acting. I thought Erica Slider was very convincing as Casey, Nina Tepes as her friend Kat and Lavelle Claiborne as Tony were very entertaining. I really liked the flashbacks to the Circus Town show and set.The actors Tom Wooler and Andy Zavacky were perfect in their parts. As Rick Tom Wooler played multiple ages and his characters own father. If you liked Puppet Master type movies you want to check this one out!
