"Prospect" is a 14-minute science fiction film from last year and it was written and directed by Chris Caldwell. He is not a prolific filmmaker and same can be said about most other people working on this movie. The exception is actor Tony Doupe. However, this does not hurt the film at all as talent does not necessarily needs to be gained through experience. This was a pretty decent watch. Caldwell really went by the books here. The first third of the film elaborates on the whole scenario, father and daughter are on a remote planet. The middle part is about drama when the father gets attacked by a thief while his daughter is absent and the ending is finally about the daughter showing us how well-trained she is when she tries her best to cope with the situation. I enjoyed this little movie. I saw no real greatness in it, but then again, it is not exactly my favorite genre. People who love sci-fi more than I do may actually really love this one. Give it a chance. Thumbs up.
