Frank Markland Brian Genesse stars as a former baseball player turned custodian who protects a boy and his mother from an android terrorist in this admittedly well made but moronic and utterly dull venture in Die Hard with a science fiction angle. One of the problems with this terrible movie is that are just too many unanswered questions. Mainly why does an android need to ransom the government? Why does Frank Zagarino (Who actually isn't too bad) act inexpressive at one moment and then spout out one-liners at one point. Also for some reason the producers have seen fit to rip off the mediocre Michael Dudikoff actioner Virtual Assassin right down to the letter. However Brian Genesse is no Michael Dudikoff (How unlikely do you see such a sentence?) and basically the movie has no interest in it's characters or indeed any plot angle. The action sequences are indifferently staged and my general observation was that they spent all their money on the look of the film but were completely baffled in making the movie itself interesting. The film's low budget special effects are good but with nothing else to hold your attention this becomes a tiresome effort.* out of 4-(Bad)
sveknu There is only one positive thing to say about this movie, and that's Frank Zagarino's performance as an android. Although he isn't anywhere near Arnold Schwarzenegger and the way he plays a cyborg, it was a bit entertaining watching it. Zagarino looked VERY robotic, that's for sure. I wouldn't have gone anywhere near the guy. Apart from this, it was a very bad movie. There are a number of action scenes, but they were all bad. That also includes the fight scenes in the movie. The hero was a really stupid one, and personally I didn't sympathize with him at all. What made things even worse, was that he had to drag a stupid woman and her 11 year old (or something like that) son around. That drove the focus away from the action, and was just irritating all the way through.
benallen33 First saw it in a rental shop in England, it looked from the video sleeve to be a terminator rip off, and so it proved to be. The film appeared to be choppy in places probably due to the version in England is heavily cut for violence I assume. Anyway the film was a passable way of spending 90 ish minutes, the guy with the blonde hair who played the android looked scary. One problem I could not believe that a human could kick a cyborg in though!
genesse Normal I hate Cyborg Action Movies. But the Shadowchaser Series is good. Bryan Genesse and Frank Zagarino are good Fighters, specially Bryan. Okay its a B-Movie, but I like B-Movies. The first and second Part of the Shadowchaser Movies are the best. Check it out.
