Nozz Despite the legendary status of Ofra Haza in Israel, this movie has never been very widely seen. Some say that first it suffered cutting because its accusations, regarding Yemenite Jewish children who went missing in Israel in the 1950s, were too specific; and then it went largely unshown because of such accusations as it still did contain regarding them. However the movie may have reached the form we see on DVD, the issue of the Yemenite children (said to have been snatched for adoption) appears there only as an unsatisfyingly fragmentary subplot. The main plot centers on a murder investigation that involves gay prostitutes in Tel Aviv and seems to rest on a rather large coincidence. The director, Arnon Zadok, is better known as an actor, and he marshals a good cast of colleagues. Doubtless some of them, like Ofra Haza, were attracted to the idea of shedding light on the scandal of the Yemenite children; at best they managed a faint flicker.
Samuel Cohen Zadok has been involved in a number of films that have Social Implications. One Story is about the Missing Children from early Fifties. In the movie Arnon Zadok finds out that He was adopted and discovers his Biological Parents Ofra Chaza plays the Part of a journalist researching "Yemenite Children", She discovers Arnon's Parents. But we do not see Ofra the International Famous Singer. Arnon is a Police detective, And we see other aspects of Israeli Society. (story two) Well done and Interesting. PS. I also have an old Video with young Chaza where she sings. This and the above both in DVD Now.
