Contains a big spoiler!Ooh-we! There are so many things wrong with this picture, but my primary gripe is Pocahontas and John Smith not being together anymore. I know in actual history, she marries Rolfe, but since when does Disney care about accuracy? Pocahontas and Smith have chemistry and an intense love between them. How could they throw all that away? They grossly changed Smith's character, too. It's almost as if he and Pocahontas never even happened. I'm easily in the camp of people who are looking to pretend that this movie never happened and that there is only one Pocahontas film to date. Fortunately, all other forms of media consider Smith and Pocahontas the true couple and completely ignore Rolfe; thank goodness! And I agree with all others. If you've seen the first movie and not this one, PLEASE do not ruin your eyes and childhood memories. You will live to regret it. I promise you.

I don't think this movie deserves to be ranked as low as "one star" because it does have some entertainment value, but it also has to be one of the worst Disney movies I've EVER SEEN.I should have guessed the movie would be bad when I saw "Disney Home Video Presents," but I didn't realize until the opening scene that this movie was a disaster. As soon as the movie opens we can see that the animation sucks as the Jamestown landscape that was so rich and wonderfully animated in "Pocahantas," is reduced to a few barren trees and snow that is void of any sort of texture. Sure, it's winter...but it must have been a budget constraint because there is NO attention to detail in the landscape. The main characters were well animated out of necessity, but everything else gets the shaft. The boats are particularly poorly animated. The plot is pretty lazy, but gets to the point well enough. Like others on here complained, this movie tries too hard to be "by the book" historically speaking, so much so that it forces an awkward romance with John Rolfe at the expense of the likable John Smith from the first film. Unlike the others, I don't have a problem with Pocahantas ending up with Rolfe (It did happen after all), but I have a problem with the lack of romantic buildup between the two as well as making John Smith seem like an arrogant jack wagon just to make "Rolfahantas" happen. My old screen writing professor would call that an "easy out" used instead of taking the time to flesh out the relationship. At only 72 minutes running time, there was more than enough room to develop that nicely. I know I'm being overly harsh on a direct to video, sequel, but you have to criticize lazy film making when you see it. I gave it three stars because Mrs. Jenkins was funny and there were some moments that made my daughter and I laugh, but other than that, this movie was very forgettable.*Drops mic*

The first Pocahontas was beautiful! A wonderful love story! It's my favorite Disney movie of all time! John Smith is hot! Pocahontas 2 not only made me angry but it was just stupid! Pocahontas fought all throughout that movie to be with John Smith and didn't even stay with him. Sucks! The Plot line to me was just dumb, there wasn't as much emotion as the first one! The bright colors and the beauty of nature was gone and John Rolfe can go somewhere with his stupid ugly clothing! John Smith and Pocahontas were meant to be even though it didn't happen in real life. They just created that stupid mess to get a little extra money! And by the looks of the reviews doesn't seem they got much! Worst sequel to a movie I have ever seen! Don't go see it! It's a waste of time!

God awful. I loved Pocahontas, (the original) despite the bad reviews it garnered, but this is just ridiculous. In this movie Pocahontas journeys to London, (what some say she should have done the first time around) with a Mr. John Rolfe, who comes across as a pompous sailer who thinks he's a big shot. They are friendly together as he tries to help her blend and mix into London society, but nowhere here do you see these supposed "sparks" of interest as they really are just working together. She doesn't do well with the King (who is represented as a dumb puppet with no thoughts of his own, and drawn to resemble the bad guy from "Swan Princess") and who is being manipulated by Ratcliff. (Why is he still here?)The story just gets more ridiculous from there. The animation is very "straight to DVD", heavily resembling that of "Hunchback of Notre Dame 2" and the musical numbers are beyond dreadful. Even with Judy Kuhn reprising the singing voice of Pocahontas there is only so much she can do. The one semi-decent song is "Where do I go from here" but even that gets annoying by the time it is reprised in the forest. When John Smith miraculously appears to be not dead (As Pocahontas thought) you find that he is not the charming, understanding man from the original. They made him more narcissistic so as to make you the viewer more inclined to like John Rolfe who has no personality at all.By the end of this rushed movie with no story line you are confused as to why the King suddenly changed his mind, why John Smith is now a jerk, and why Pocahontas wants to be with this John Rolfe man. (Perhaps she is just lonely) All in all this story could have been put together by a bunch of brainless third graders. I do not recommend it to anyone, child or adult. This is probably THE worst Disney sequel and movie ever made. It almost makes me cry with grief because of it.
