'Piglet's Big Movie' could have been much better. While watching it, it felt as though one was watching a straight to video Disney film. The dialogues were ordinary and the animation was a little too simplistic. That aside, the movie still has its charm mostly because of the characters and their camaraderie. The humour also works well most of the time. Piglet being the littlest one in the group and often ignored, the characters walk down memory lane while as they reminisce their little friend while searching for him. The songs have beautiful lyrics but most of them are poorly sung except for the one beautifully sung by Carly Simon herself which is one of the highlights of the movie. 'Piglet's Big Movie' may have its flaws but it's far from Disney's worst. Kids will enjoy it the most as there's a valuable lesson about friendship to be learned too but this is also applicable to adults who sometimes take the youngest one in their group for granted and fail to express their importance. Overall, I'm still glad that Piglet got his own movie.

I don't normally give 1 as a score, especially to a Winnie the Pooh movie. But, guess what? Disney really dropped the ball on this one. Obviously, no one who was writing or editing has ever seen The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which is the release of the three main vignettes created by Disney himself with his original artists, etc. as one movie. I saw it as a kid, and own a copy on VHS that I bought for my son. In the second vignette, Winnie the Pooh has just had his experience with "Winds-Day", and the "very blustery day turned into a very blustery night". When Pooh is in bed, there comes a sound "never heard in the 100-acre wood before". And there is a loud banging at his door (for those who love to find errors in editing, have a field day with Pooh's door!). Pooh "decides to let the new sound in" and in bounds Tigger, who "bounces" Pooh for the very first time. In the very first vignette, Pooh gets trapped in Rabbit's front door. Remember who brought Pooh honeysuckle? Remember who pulled and tugged to remove Pooh from Rabbit's door?? Kanga and Roo. Who lived in the 100-acre wood before Tigger. Enough before Tigger to be well-established characters LONG before Tigger enters the Disney picture. So,I recommend NEVER seeing this movie. Never buying this movie and maybe even sending mail to Disney to let them know fans of Pooh weren't napping on this one. What a waste. I was very angry at the theater when I took my son and spent over $30 to see something that was so horrible. I've since learned it's OK to leave and ask for a refund. You won't be blacklisted at that theater, and you might even send a mightier message to the Disney machine. This isn't the first ball they've dropped, but it certainly is the most disappointing.

For anyone who has seen a previous Winnie the Pooh cartoon this will be a disappointing movie. The quality of the animation was not even close to the level of the television programs. I know this is intended for children but it is one I regret taking my kids to. The characters are presented in a callous manner in regard to each other and especially Piglet. Rabbit is as close to a villian as portrayed in any Disney movie. And a scene near the end left one of my kids crying well after the movie because she thought that Pooh and Piglet had been hurt. The barest redemptive value would be the series of scenes where the characters are making drawing for Piglet and the scenes come to life. Excellent animation. The songs by Carly Simon are also wonderful. This should have been a straight to video release or just a TV special. It was not worth the money paid for the tickets. Another example of a poorly produced Disney "sequel".
