Jesse begins experiencing a number of disturbing and unexplainable things after the death of his neighbor. As he investigates, it isn't long before Jesse finds he's been marked for possession by a malevolent demonic entity, and it's only a matter of time before he is completely under its control. It's far from a masterpiece and it definitely has it's problems for sure but like someone else said the film's ending was pretty damn creepy to say the least (especially the final shot of the movie). The next installment unfortunately was meant to suck. (6.3/10)

The Marked ones is without doubt one of the best films from the Franchise (first one apart.) It's the usual format, every stereotype included, kids, found footage, person turned away, being on top of the ceiling, but somehow this one has an air of originality about it. Unlike the last few films the character's are well rounded and for the first time likeable, so when things start happening to them you care. There's nothing particularly original here, the ending has definitely been done to death, but it doesn't seem to matter. Not bad at all.

After a neighbor's death in his apartment complex, a teen finds that the strange occurrences and powers surrounding him and his friends are the cause of a demonic prophecy coming true and force their friends into a deadly race to save him and free themselves. This turned out to be quite an enjoyable if still flawed effort in the series. What this one does rather well is the fact that it's first half does come off rather well being a pretty creepy and chilling build- up of their everyday lives actually being quite fun. The lead-in from the graduation celebration and into the first investigations into their neighbor comes off rather nicely, and once they learn of her death it becomes quite chilling here with the realization of her interest in the occult this makes for a much greater sense of suspense here with the sudden onslaught of new abilities that get documented by the two.that leads them into their rather fun adventures showing off his new abilities. This is a nice balance between fun and creepy, and once it moves past that into the creepy angle again there's a lot of great work to be had here from the friend invading their rendezvous with the girls that starts up the investigation into his backstory that falls in- line with the other kids which is all rather nicely done. The action scenes here are all rather nicely done here as well, managing to take the rather intriguing premises here from their encounter with the friend escaping from the murder scene, his later reappearance when they come home with the girls having to chase him out into the street and the rather freaky occurrence in the basement to rather chilling extremes as they all make this one quite an enjoyable effort. With the final half also managing to generate quite some interesting and chilling action scenes as well in the failed exorcism attempt that quickly becomes a quite chilling sequence, the escape attempt and then eventual abduction by the coven from the accident site which leads so well into the truly chilling encounters at their ranch- house hideout that generates so many fun and enjoyable moments here, there's so much here that's quite fun and full of blazing action that it ends on a high note and becomes quite fun. There's a few flaws to be had here, which all basically starts with the usual issue to be found here in this series with the absolutely utter insanity to need to be recording during many of these encounters. Though it works quite nicely at the first half when it's just simply them hanging around their neighborhood not really doing much of anything, the later scenes here are just so pointless as to need to be recording during them that it really manages to showcase not a series of freaky encounters that just so happened to be captured on camera but also just plain stupidity that forces their need to keep a camera going during these intense moments when trying to save themselves would be a better use of their resources. As well, there's also the rather annoying and plain irritating tactic of going really quiet only to suddenly feature something really loud bursting into the soundtrack to generate scares which is a frequent occurrence here that it becomes so predictable about what's happening here which does become quite problematic. Otherwise it's quite a fun time.Rated R: Extreme Graphic Language, Graphic Violence, Full Nudity, a sex scene and drug use.

This movie is so boring. its just stupid people who think they know how teenagers act. the first 35 minutes of the movie is just two guys going "WE GOT A CAMERA XD" And filming things that nobody would film. Im not talking about scary stuff, I mean they film them going out for a walk, they film them at a party, they film them drawing a penis on the other guys cheek, they film them talking about smoking weed in their room. The first two paranormal activity films were pretty good, they actually built up atmosphere and some kind of suspense. This film is too slow, like Birdemic: Shock and Terror slow. It takes 35 minutes for anything even remotely scary to happen. The ending is kind of cool because it turns out that they went into Micah and Katie's house in the first film, right at the point when Katie started screaming for Micah. But there was no reason for them to go there, and I enjoyed wondering what Katie saw down there, or whether she was just screaming so that she could make Micah come and she could kill him. So this movie spoiled that. And there are gangsters, WHY ARE THERE GANGSTERS FIGHTING MONSTERS IN A PARANORMAL ACTIVITY MOVIE? That's something Uwe Boll would come up with. This movie isn't scary, this movie isn't entertaining, this movie isn't so bad its good. Its just bad. Boring with nothing of substance or originality
