braddugg A delightful charming film that has to be welcome in a Hindi Film Industry.Few films show us answers and reasons, few films challenge our observation and leave questions for us, so that we find answers. This films challenged me, I was surprised to see Paresh Rawal play 3 different characters and all 3 betray our super hero thief Lucky(Abhay Deol). So this commonality of characterisation was what Dibakar Banerjee wanted to show to us. Also, lot many questions are shown as to how silly people are, actually are they so silly? May be yes, if you give in you will enjoy this throughly and even if you do not then you are left to explore the logic and in each character seems to be adamant about what it wants to achieve. The most plus point of this film is Abhay Deol who plays Lucky and is fluent at what he does. He does not seem to be acting anywhere, just reacting to what has happened and just doing what that character would expectedly be doing. Actually a weird character but after a while we just get used to his pranks and his ways of stealing. Nicely written by Dibakar Banerjee in bringing out the milieu and flavor of a Delhi that is all in its characters, the cinematography should also be commended. Above and all, I would go with the costume design that are actually gaudy flashy and yet seem to be speaking a language of the character. I would deride, editing though and editing could have been lot better. Lot many scenes just to establish a character even after that character has made an impact...I am talking about Gogi (Paresh Rawal -2) and too many photographs in the last part of the film. I would have enjoyed it more had we known how Lucky plots each theft and what goes on in his mind.I would go with a 3/5 for a movie that seems to be simple yet is bring alive by its characters that are multi layered and have for sure made an impact.
GaneshKSalian Oye Lucky Lucky Oye directed by Dibakar Banerjee is an excellent comedy movie.Based on a real life incident,Oye Lucky Lucky Oye is a smart, brilliant comedy film which test your intelligence.Story: Inspired by the incredible true story of Lucky Singh (Abhay Deol), an extremely charismatic and fearless confident man and thief who socialized with the rich, famous and influential of Delhi society and then proceeded to rob them blind. He was strongly detested by the police and had stolen millions by the time he was caught. A modern day Robin Hood with a twist, he robbed both the rich and the poor without prejudice. Nothing was too big nor was anything too insignificant to escape his attention. The film opens with his trial and charts his rise from the projects of crime ridden suburban Delhi to the very heart of the corridors of power. Along the way he makes lifelong friends, falls in love an manages to outwit the entire law and order machinery. The writing is smart. The direction is fabulous.Kudos to Dibakar Banerjee! The dialogs are the high-point of the film.Another reason why Oye Lucky Lucky Oye rocks is because of its award-worthy performances.Abhay Deol is amazing. But the scene stealer, here is,Paresh Rawal who essays the role of three different characters excellently. He is brilliant.Neetu Chandra in a small role is good.Manu Chandra as Lucky's friend is excellent.Archana Puran Singh is good too.Manjot Sinh is funny. All in all,Oye Lucky Lucky Oye is a must-watch because it is one of those few films which really tests your intelligence.I am giving it a eight on ten.Must Watch!
rishugm Can't recall any other movie in the recent past that I have seen over and over and over again. I think this movie is an excellent work on understanding human psyche nd emotions. Dibakar Banerjee (Director) has done a fabulous job in bringing together such a special cast and getting this kind of performance.Manu Rishi (Bangali) deserves a special word for his amazing performance and is treat to watch in the movie. No word can do justice to the performance of Paresh Rawal, he is simply too good in all three roles.DB congratulations for this special movie. Keep the good work going. Have great expectations from LSD.
idfor07 There is not 0 (zero) for vote otherwise I would have selected that one. The movie has broke one record - "The WORST movie of my life". Entire movie doesn't mean any sense. The acting is pathetic and senseless. We watched this movie on Friday night and HONESTLY, we couldn't sleep until 2 AM. We were thinking that our life is meaningless just because we spent 2 hours for this meaningless movie. It not only ruined our Friday night but also the Weekend. Seriously, I would have spent those 2 hours in restroom rather then watching this pathetic movie. Please give yourself and your family a fever and do not spend 1 minute to talk/watch/read/write about this movie.
