Granted, if you're going to make a movie, you might as well have an "out there" concept like trans-dimensional hopping. But for whatever reasons for this idea, the only thing more unbearable than high school is seeing high school being portrayed for ages NOT OLD ENOUGH TO BE IN HIGH SCHOOL YET. Popularity contest plot frame, one-dimensional popular girl antagonist, blue-haired Mc Useless love interest, oh goody. But for the limited credit that it has, the movie does have the character emphasis from the show. And the interactions between the Mane 6 are the best part of the film. In addition, the human designs of the original characters are really good! The animation and what they do with it frankly, is why the movie deserves to exist. I mean, seeing Twilight adjusting to her new human body is just, funny! And the songs are, there.....? But then the villain is an idiot. Yes, set up a bunch of easily fortified conveniences, only to surrender. And then just jump on her and take the McGuffin with your bare hands, WHAT.So neither the train wreck the fans dreaded, but not the surprisingly fresh innovation that they hoped for.

Yes, it isn't quite as good as the show. Still, that shouldn't be held against the movie. This spinoff still maintains the MLP franchise's tendency to go beyond the stereotypicalness and obviousness of other girls shows and films. Yeah, the high school format is predictable, but there is something about a pony in a human's body and a battle with a monster at the end that shakes things up some. Dialogue is on point and there are some funny bits. The songs are all forgettable though, I'll give you that.

Who even thought this was a good idea? Was there really someone who thought that My Little Pony would be better if it were humans in a high school? I feel kind of weird criticizing a cartoon for little girls, but I'm not sure if this was made for little girls. The TV show knows what it wants to be: a well-made animated series for children and their parents. This movie could just as easily be made for teenagers, or bronies, or to attract new fans. Since it can't choose its audience, it fails to appeal to any of them. Don't get me wrong, I can see why some people would like this, but I wasn't personally a fan. The characters still seemed to be keep in character with the show
while making horrible decisions. The animation was amazing during the pony segments
but was awkward in the human world. Meanwhile, the villain was bland, the romance was forced and never went anywhere, and the entire movie just felt like a mess. At least they somewhat improved it in the sequels, but I'll get to those at another time.

Oh. In the cafeteria song, the pony girls sing in the café, with pony hat things. It's not necessary. it would be more good if they sang on a stage. it would be better if they were scolded. Bad idea Rarity. Oh my gosh. And not only that. the friends are acting to much friendship, their all BFFs, I know, but this has gone 2 far. The plot is 5/10 The music 1.3/10 and the animation, 6/10 Awful! come on. What makes the film worse is rarity in the café song thing. and the fight with the red and yellow girl. It would have been better if it has a PG rating, and the ponies stay ponies and no action.( if no action, light PG) honorable mention for top 15 worst animated movies. The show is still bad, but this is worse. id be watching the show than the dumb movie. The only MLP FIM episodes I love r... Cutie pox (The Hoopla is a reference to the SpongeBob episode Krusty Krab training video. That's It.
