I saw the first "MOTIVE" movie awhile ago and don't remember a darn thing, but it was good. Good-looking well dressed well heeled black people plotting on each other. Some pretty-boy, thought he was getting away with something and ended up getting set-up and caught-up. But thats all I remember So getting beating over the head every other scene with them back logging to the first movie got pretty irritating. I mean there were no "Zombies" or "Samuria Swords" or "Spank-Bank worthy love scenes" so I couldn't see watching it again just to know what was going in the second movie. I think the second one would have been better had they feathered it in on the premise of the brother trying to solve his brothers murder. And the suspects just skyfing on each other trying to stay out of trouble. That being said, Micheal White who always plays tragic doomed characters (The Shield / Brick) turned in a good performance as always. William L. JOHNSON made up for his irritatingly over the top performance in the "PLAYERZ COURT".

This movie has wonderful plot twists and an excellent story. well worth watching. Motives two has strong characters. I thought it was a great sequel and sequels are not usually something I care for. Ms. Fox does an excellent job as always. This is a strong movie with a great cast. It continues the first motives movie and includes just enough of the first story for someone who didn't see the first one to be able to watch the second one and still understand what is going on but it doesn't rehash all of the first movie with a lot of flashbacks. Just includes the important necessary parts to keep you up to date on the story line.

Motives 2 is a pretty decent sequel to Motives. I must admit that it wasn't as good as the first one, but it is worth seeing. If you are a fan of the first Motives then you would want to see this sequel to find out what happens to Brandon(Sean Blakemore), Connie(Vivica Fox), Derrick(Joe Torry), and the cop(Mel Jackson). It carries an very interesting story line. There is a lot of dialogue. So in order to figure out the ending you must pay close attention or you will not understand what happens in the end. The producers and writers all did well. Stomp The Yard's Brian White does a stellar performance as Donovan, the brother of Emery(Shemar Moore, who does not appear in this sequel). If you saw the first Motives, then you will certainly be anxious to see what happens next.
