glitzz97 I watched Moodar Koodam recently, expecting it to be another normal attempt to make a different cult black comedy in Tamil cinema. I was proved wrong as the movie developed at it's own pace. Director Naveen has not just directed his debut with extreme hard work, but also with a great ambition to instill awareness in the mainstream audience. I found many reviews criticizing this film's loose script and almost fell for that trap. After watching this film, I was once again proved that Kollywood critics and reviewers aren't reliable at all. This film shouldn't be missed at all costs, miss it at your own risk. The philosophies in this film are perfectly fitted into the specified scenes. Yet again, this is another film which cannot be enjoyed and liked by everyone. If you're looking for a change in your daily mainstream taste of films, this is the film to begin with. Overall rating: 8.5/10 (82%)
Terence Frederick Kollywood marches to unconventional movie making these days. Must say that was quite impressed to view a movie so good taken in a limited budget. On one end, there are movies filled with number of songs, foreign locations, expensive sets, big stars, glamorous women and techies but terribly fails in script and screenplay. The director of the movie, a newbie, has given the audience a movie in 'almost' a single location (a house). It reminds me of the Tarantino's style in Reservoir Dogs. I strongly recommend the audience to watch this movie at least once but PARENTAL GUIDANCE is strongly recommended if children watch the director's cut like me which I would recommend. One tiny-teeny demerit in this movie is about the director's character which falls behind certain scenes, I feel. Watch out for goofy 'Sendraayan' and the little girl's character, she's cute as hell.
Lakshmanan R So after soodhu kavvum and neram, v have the next dark comedy film dis year. Tamil cinema surely is progressing and its great to see these new type of genres being attempted. But while the earlier two had on a brighter look, dis movie takes a look at the poor and the lower class n d tone of d film s dark mostly...the story is really simple...4 desperate guys decide to steal a rich man...what happens when they arrive at his house forms the entire story. the narration is top notch and is almost up to Hollywood standards using imaginative flashbacks...while i would not like to reveal much more i would advise every1 to catch this movie...naveen surely has a great future ahead both as a director and an actor...sentrayan simply steals the show...n every1 chipped in with good performances...there was not a single boring moment in the movie!!!! a great comedy by a new team...don't miss moodar koodam!!!!
A.Rahul Chandar after "Aaranya Kandam", this one is brilliant try at making offbeat films in Tamil cinema. director's work is really commendable and he is one among many who needs to be encouraged. though the film might seem to be inspired from "city of god" and Guy Ritchie's film "the lock stock and two smoking barrels", the director hasn't flopped ultimately in showcasing a quality film. the has been many instances of failure in making a film by getting inspired from Hollywood movies, but this one is surely an exception.those who haven't seen the above mentioned films will really find it fresh.everyone who has the intent to encourage quality films and who don't believe in the success of mass hero's commercial films(which is an absolute waste of time from my perspective) , please watch it!! its only for you guys..
