yousfeboy I don't judge a book by its cover so I decided to see the movie myself and I was disappointed. The plot was rubbish and the action was so tacky and very far from realistic with lots of boring moments in between. Perhaps the most disgusting of which was the lack of attention to details; like an insult to the viewer.
Argemaluco Various positive reviews woke my interest in Momentum. And even though I found it moderately entertaining, it was sabotaged by an excessively conventional screenplay which limits itself to regurgitate the formulas of the action genre without adding anything new or memorable. So, its only grace seems to be the presence of an intense leading actress, something I found correct... but not enough so to recommend it with too much enthusiasm. This isn't the first time in which Olga Kruylenko ventures into the action cinema (in fact, she became famous when she played the "Bond girl" of Quantum of Solace), but she had always been relegated to damsel in distress or "eye candy". However, she proves that she has enough talent and charisma to carry a movie in Momentum. James Purefoy tried his best as the villain, but his character is slightly ridiculous due to his propensity to the melodrama and Machiavellian monologues (seriously, during the torture scene, he has the longest villain monologue I have seen in my whole life). As for Morgan Freeman, it's easy to notice that he participated in this movie just for the paycheck. The screenplay of Momentum is quite routine, but at least, it keeps a certain coherence during its development... something we don't always find in B-action cinema. Besides, Momentum keeps a dynamic rhythm which doesn't bore and moderately distracts us from the various narrative mistakes. And even though it's highly unlikely that Momentum will initiate a franchise, I'm convinced that Kurylenko found an appropriate niche for her talent. I already consider myself a fan of hers... but I hope she will work with better screenplays than the one of Momentum in future action films.
Zeech Oh Lordy Lordy what turkey this was. Only bothered to watch this coz of Morgan. The first few seconds with his voice over sets up a kewl vibe where you reach for a brew and blunt and get comfy in the lazy boy and then… nothing but corn camp villain with English public school accent (coz we all know the British are up to no good) fighting it out with a pathetic flat ass hero whose pretty face has one expression… BLAND! Even the action scenes couldn't stop me from adjusting my lazy boy to sleep mode. It's 2016 and our standards are high from Bourne Conspiracy and a zillion Kung Fu movies. The action scenes here are like the 1970's cop films, OK back then but well stale now. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!! if you're going to watch cheezy cliché crap make it bearable at least and do a 50 Cent straight to video move at least my man has swagger which always goes well with a brew and blunt.
LeonLouisRicci Above Average, Low-Budget, South-African Movie. One of those Direct to Video Action Types that are by Nature, mostly Worthless at Worst and Worth a Watch at Best.In this one, Cinematographer Campanelli makes His Directorial Debut in this Flash and Splash item providing enough Eye-Candy and Stylized Mayhem to put it in the Worth a Watch Category.Olga Kurylenko's Underwear are Prominent in a Number of Scenes as is Her Kick-Ass Abilities. The Director goes for "Cool" and Succeeds. The Action is Visceral and Brutal at times and it all Looks Laminated and Slick.James Purefoy as a Soul-Less, Cold-Blooded Type who Talks a lot about His Admiration for His Adversary and it is one Cliché that wears out its welcome and His Character is Unremarkable and Less than an Alter-Egos should be. It's the Weakest Part of the Weak Script.Overall, its Target Audience should find enough here to Not Disappoint. Morgan Freeman's Two-Day Shoot comes off as an Expected Two-Day Shoot would.
