Synopsis

A Terrytoons cartoon released 20 July 1945. A twisted version of some famous fairy tales! The Wolf introduces himself and explains that he's misunderstood! Red Riding Hood comes along, and the Wolf changes into his zoot suit, grabs Red and makes her do a jive boogie-woogie dance with him! Mighty Mouse sees this, and he clobbers the Wolf. Then the Wolf cross-dresses to impersonate Little Bo Peep, and lures a flock of lambs into his trap. He whips out a gun and makes the sheep take their wool off! Mighty Mouse sees this, and he beats the heck out of the Wolf. The Wolf then tries to get into the Three Little Pigs' house by pretending to be a cowboy. He calls for backup. The Wolves attack the pigs, Mighty Mouse trounces them, and all is well in Cartoonland!

beckydi I loved Mighty Mouse as a youngster - in fact he actually rescued me from a torturous day spent in one of those urine smelling kids clubs at a Butlin style holiday camp. The relief, I can tell you, was immense when I saw the tiny caped one upon the telly. I hadn't seen one of these little classics for yonks and I have to say it was a real pleasure to see 'Wolf, Wolf' again recently. Brought back memories and reminds me that being a shorty doesn't mean you can't be strong. And that lamb is almost TOO cute as it frolics about the place, and does slightly steal the thunder of our mouse sized superhero. Remember: "Mighty Mouse proves once again he's champion of lambs and men" - I love the over the top male VO too, it's genius.
zachary_the_lionhearted If you laugh at gags that are constantly overused just because you love old cartoons, this wouldn't be a bad notch in your belt.At first you wonder how it could possibly be a 'Mighty Mouse' cartoon because it seems like a classic wolf/sheep battle, but in the end of course heeeee comes in to save the dayyyyyy. It's amazing what you can do with lightning-shooting fingertips and the ability to fly alone. In summary, this short isn't anything to break your neck to see, but if you like the character this will at least appease you. The real show-stealer is the cute little Ewe that IL' MM is saving... which may be the reason his shorts never went to the next level.
