Synopsis

The film's title is a pun, the double meaning referencing both the "wrong genre" and a person with distasteful motives. Insecure novelist Martial Bok promotes his new sexy novel La Fille de Dos ("Girl Observed From the Rear") with a round of book-signings and talk-shows. When beautiful hat designer Camille buys the book, Martial follows her and spies on her as she reads his book and removes her clothing. It's the beginning of his obsession and also an inspiration. After Martial's live-in girlfriend Lucie establishes contact with Camille for real, Martial is able to type out another sexy manuscript.

leplatypus This french comedy is a good surprise because it tells how a writer picks up ideas for novels. It's funny to remember that the famous KING who always writes novels about a writer never really takes a technical look in the process while this movie plunges right into the field : so we have a really great study of fiction, reality, creation. It's also a decent comedy as the author runs after a girl with a hat who runs after his girlfriend ! This triangle causes funny moments all the more than the cast is really inspired : la Bellucci is less statuesque than usual and is indeed great speaking french with her cute accent ; The actress from « Schindler's list » is witty and dynamic and the author Jacques Gamblin is really good : a bit like Duchovny, he is a false quiet able to adapt in every situation. For me, as the action takes place in Paris, it speaks to me because i know a lot of places, malls, squares… It's surely an hidden gem to discover as the real authors behind it never really done something else better before or after this one !
