gsandra614 I never had any imaginary friends when I was young. Too late for me to adopt some now. It's bewildering to me that so many people need and want to be told what to think. They will live their whole lives without any doubt about the fantasies and contradictions their faith poses. And whose religion is the one true faith? The Catholics? The Muslims? The Sikhs? Hindus? Or is all of it so at odds with science that none are to believed? This movie was more of a play and the actors are advocates for one belief system that enthralls them to the point of hysteria.
hector773 I'm a 20 year-old-boy who was invited by his parents to watch the movie.. when I first heard about it my first answer was to tell them I wouldn't joint them to go watch it -honestly the title sounded boring to me- however, now that I have watched the film, I can assure you I was left really impressed by the profound message it leaves on the viewer, and well as by the simple, light-headed way that such a message is communicated. As a college student, I believe there is an overly strong pressure - held by the society's mainstream views- for us young adults to engage and experiment with all kinds of behaviors; such as alcohol/drug abuse, early sexual encounters, etc. I certainly found "Mary's Land" to be a fresh ray of light shining through the mist. I believe everyone who has been subjected to doubt in his faith or his beliefs, should give his/herself the opportunity to listen and reflect upon the testimonies (which are by the way, really huge) of people who were able to find meaning in their lives through God. Mainstream Hollywood and the media are both constantly sending a message that we hear wherever we go. Opportunities to find a film such as this one, which invites us to reflect on the true meaning and purpose of our lives, are few and far between!
masanz1280 I liked the film, it is a Movie that talks about love of God and Blessed virgin Mary, but in a really fresh and nice way, allowing us to hear the testimony of some people who got touched in their lives by God and Mary. There is nothing here about New Age as other reviews say, it is a completely wrong review. It includes some episodes about Medjugorje and what happens to people there, it is an interesting, fun movie, made with a limited budget but a lot of love and faith.I like it and recommend it.
fernandoleza This is a 21st century new age religious movie which seems written for a 10 year old audience. There's no real acting, the lines are simple minded and the only redeeming feature are the nature scenes scenes and the animals, which were voiced over with really simple language. Those are pretty good and can be used for a Sunday school class for little tots. The religion angle also seems a bit odd because it sure doesn't follow the Bible, yet it sounds as if they were trying to respect it. But beyond those early nature and creation scenes I just can't think of anything which merits praise. It's one of those really bad movies ones sits through thinking it has to get better. But it never does, so all that's left is wondering whether taking a nap through it may not be the better option.
