The movie is a benchmark for future Dominican films, it incorporates the society in a way that hasn't been done before, definitely looking forward to Lotoman003 which seem to be causing quite a commotion in the island. The truth is that for me this was necessary, a comedy which inspires unity in families but also portrays the hardships people face with different adversities and how to go about them, similar to the drama we face on a daily basis. If you are a Spanish speaker you should watch the movie, if you are Dominican you should watch it even more. Latins all over have enjoyed it. I write this review from the bottom of my heart, I have been truly moved and feel very proud of my country to see things like this coming together, so don't waste more time and check it out for yourself, you wont be disappointed.

So if you want to see the best movie made in Dominican Republic this work directed by Archie Lopez is right one.

When you watch this movie: its cast, acting, story line, and you think you are going to watch something equivalent or competing with even a B-Hollywood style movie, you will be disappointed. However, if you are a Dominican, specially if you are a Dominican living abroad, this movie will seem like going back to your beloved motherland. And yes, though the acting and the story line are suspect at best, for us Dominicans, this comedy hits home. It makes you laugh and it makes you cry... it makes you be... well, a Dominican! Our customs, our values, our priorities, our crazy families, the "barrio", the "tigueres", the "motoristas", the girls with amazingly large "behinds", the Bachata, Merengue, our food... and so forth. It is all what makes Dominican Republic, Dominican Republic! Any suggestions made to the producers regarding improving the acting and the story line, should be seriously considered. There was a lot that could have been made different in this movie. Yet again, if you live the lives these two guys were living in, all this seems, well... "naturally Dominican" to you.So, for Dominican filmmaking, which is an endeavour that is still a work in progress, LotoMan gets a 7 for effort!Lic. Dawlin A. Ureña Montás

Lotoman is an example of films made for the race and without any cinematic approach. The story tells how two brothers move from very poor to millionaires to win the lottery and living situations in their new status of wealthy.Of the positive things the film worth mentioning is the performance of Alfonso Rodriguez gets into the character and makes it credible, on the other hand, the bottom line is acceptable, the bad thing is the way we have it all.The script is not clear, let other crazy situations with less sense and stay in the air. Raymond Pozo Miguel Cespedes show that there aren't movie stars, TV is your thing, the short comedy sketch and ready.Dominican Republic is a country that enjoys his comedians, supports his films, I think it is time for the national film producers support the Dominicans with a good movie as we deserve.Rafael Rodríguez Torres
