Synopsis

Ten-year-old Gabe was just a normal kid growing up in Manhattan until Rosemary Telesco walked into his life, actually into his karate class. ethanspeed This movie is a perfect representation of how romantic comedies are formed. Every Romantic Comedy Ever is summed up in this movie. Literally every one of them smashed into one. From There's Something About Mary to Crazy Stupid Love, this film sums up all of them. Many parts of the movie can be very good, but some...Not so much.... For Example, The scene where Gabe goes all Psycho on Rosemary. It's basically like he's on his period or something. The rest of the movie is very good but will never amount to be a classic like Billy Elliot. The story itself is very well developed for this film and I like the narration from Gabe (most of the times) and the inspirational speech from Josh Hutcherson. Other problems with this film are that the CGI effects in Gabe's fantasies or dreams are mostly pretty cheesy but it doesn't really matter, because It's a kid's fantasy. And that is the end of my review. Thanks for reading.
Tss5078 For those of you who don't know the name Josh Hutcherson, you will soon. He is a big Sci-Fi fan, and in his short career, has been in Journey To The Center of The Earth, Bridge To Terabithia, and he has also recently landed the lead in the upcoming Hunger Games trilogy. Little Manhattan was however the film that got him started. It's a simple story about a ten year old boy and his first love. Basically, I saw it as Sex In The City from the adolescent males point of view. (It even features Cynthia Nixon and Willie Garson.) The film was cute, but it should have been so much better. The kids were acting way way WAY too mature for ten year olds. I was a ten year old boy once and nothing like THAT ever crossed my mind. The parts are written for much older kids, nevertheless, Hutcherson and Charlie Ray both do a fantastic job with their respective roles. This should have been a comedy about the awkwardness of first love, instead, it's just a cute story. It's enjoyable, but they could have done so much more with this story and this cast.
SaranshTMF feeling short of words to describe this one :') what a brilliant movie :) brought back few old memories :*( .very very delightful to watch :-D ........ one f d sweetest and funniest romantic movie :) in <3 with that gal and The boy is my exact replica :D missed dose good old days when a strange feeling makes you helpless every time you see a beautiful girl :P Each n every change in a boy's life ,when he finds his true love, is shown so perfectly. kulkarni_ss11 I caught the promo of this movie on TV one evening and that was enough for me to go hunting for it. This movie really blew me!!!A simple yet engrossing storyline, good screenplay with regular commentary from Gabe in the background (which was truly awesome), perfectly reflects the thinking of every boy of his age. Having passed through that age, I can say that the movie was faithful to innocent childish love-like feeling which many experience at that age.Every little feeling of happiness, jealousy, attraction, anger were shown brilliantly. The movie is full of good innocent humor. Also there are some parts which really make you smile. The whole movie was one great experience and I would love to congratulate the makers of this movie for going out of the line in making this one. Every time i watch this movie i again feel like i was 10 feeling afraid of talking with any girl.I would strongly recommend this movie to young guys and girls because it gives you lots to relate yourself with...The entire cast has done a fair job but Josh Hutcherson really brings Gabe to life. His performance stands out and he will surely remain in your mind long after this movie ends ...
